Happy Fourth of July!

we had a good, busy day here...

started off trimming trees out front...

and headed to the back of the side yard...

to conquer the weeds...

morning glory by the field...

soy beans...

weeds...

and we drug things out and started in...

and then I looked up and thought, those need trimmed, too...

and now the sun can come in on the day lilies and garden...

these are doing great...

lots of blooms...

but this bed was in total shade and not one flower...

the sun could barely peek through...

so hoping this helps things back there...

green beans coming on again...

and we worked out here until noon...

and that's almost a finished area...

but we had this afternoon and tomorrow morning to get it all done...

all those rains and muggy weather made things grow pretty fast...

we planted this area last night...

I put a begonia in the pot on its side...

gives some color to this area that was all green...

and we have a volunteer squash coming up by the burn pile...

I have been working on the kitchen off and on all week...

this is my new work area...

got the table in front of the windows and my area over here now...

we cooked out on the grill for supper...

and had those green beans with it tonight...

and it was so good...

I am so tired...

thinking of heading to bed now...

will probably be up later tonight...

got a big evening tomorrow...

so I need to rest up...

when the guys are gone, this chick will play...

been trying to declutter the kitchen area..

so added some things that had been 'out' collecting dust...

and to clear off surfaces...

so all the things I want to keep went in here...

and everything got dusted in here, too...

I added some of the lilacs I collected in the spring to this jar...

and while I was going this...

other things were going on...

Charlie took the shoe off of my doll and when I went to put her in here...

she was footless...

so found that in the living room...

mauled...

so we had a talk about mommy toys and Charlie toys...

he just rolled his eyes...

and this character...

can you see him now?

he was a bad boy, too...

I had looked out earlier and saw the feeder tilted and lid not on right...

and just thought DH had FAILED in the bird feeding this morning before he left for work...

but it wasn't DH...

someone, no names, was stealing bird feed...

this was full, but he kept tipping it and dumping the seed out and then running down and pigged out...

and when I tapped on the window and told him to quit that...

he gave me the tail!

how rude!

I am not having a good day and have terrible tummy problems...

and trouble keeping my blood sugar up...

prayers would be appreciated...

DH has 3 days off...

and Craig got tomorrow off...

cooking out tomorrow...

fireworks here are Saturday...

and a Jonah Fish Fry before...

so guess that's what we are doing...

have a fun and safe fourth...

and remember...

vets with PSD and animals when shooting off fireworks...

they don't think its fun at all...

what a day!

we were cleaning the kitchen today, and I looked up and saw this...

well, we had a pretty visitor today...

romping in the bean field...
I looked for mama, but didn't see her...

someone was lost...

but I did hear a commotion in the tree line between us and the railroad...

that's all the photos I got...

baby Bambi went into our yard...

so we headed out, to turn it back to the field...

goofy was heading for the highway...

sent Craig around behind the neighbor's across the street...

I said all you have to do is yell and wave your arms and it will turn and run...

and it did...

not sure if it found its mom or not...

but here are some shots around the yard this evening after supper...

we took a walk and then walked back to check the garden...

coleus will get planted this weekend...

anyway, I found these...

so I started picking...

the garden is really ahead of time this year...

loving the hot and humid...

and I got enough for a mess...

so they are on the stove...

with potatoes and bacon...

and they smell really good...

I sat at the picnic table and broke the beans...

and it sprinkled a few times on me...

but the view was awesome...

so many things happening in the yard now...

and so much more to come...

I love this time of the year...

got up this morning, late...

but we still managed a Paris run...

and I found a few things...

for DH...

coleus and caladium...

the caladium will go in a pot and sit in front of the coleus...

with some begonias scattered around...

then I found this cross solar light and I just had to have it...

its so pretty after dark...

and then I got this for DH...

a late birthday present...

its a willow tree...

he loves them a lot...

and the coleus we had seen on an earlier trip and he wouldn't get them...

and here are some bloomers that opened this morning...

day lilies...

cone flowers just beginning...

as these lilies are finishing up...

will be dead heading them by the weekend...

we got a half inch of rain yesterday...

and inch more last night...

and the pepper plant shot up a foot over night...

didn't get much done around here at all today...

just a trip to town...

supper and putting stuff away...

and then I laid down really early...

missed my nap today...

and now I will probably be up half the night...

oh, well...

only 6 more months left of this year...

3 of nice weather...
