an evening walk on the prairie...

come on, whatcha waitin' on?
there's lots to see here!

these always make my mom smile...
and she stops and looks at each one as they open up...

and you know mom loves her flowers...
I am not allowed in the flower beds...
but I do sneak in them when she is not looking...

this would probably be a good place to pee on if mom would let me go that far...
she says it doesn't belong to us...

maybe I can pull dad over here sometime...
he's easier than mom on stuff like that...

mom was gone this afternoon...
to the doctor's again...
and I had to stay home alone...
well, I had a sister and some brothers to hang out with...

mom says this is what bunnies eat...
and we went all the way to the end of the street and saw the corn...
I don't see what the big deal is about that stuff...
like its not hard to find and it seems to be everywhere...

mom tied me up back here so she could pick green beans...
I watched and cheered her on every time a handful hit the bucket...

and that's what she brought into the house...
she put it on the table so I wouldn't get into it...

mom always brings me something home when she goes to the doctor...
I got a new shirt and 3 new toys...
one is for outside...

mom said everything is fine, but she will be going back in 3 months...
so maybe there will be more toys!
anyway, I am getting tired and need to nap before bedtime...
its hard waiting all that time by the door for mom to come home...
sweet dreams...
Love,
Charlie

just another piddle fartin' day...

got up to thunder this morning...
and it was just that low rolling kind of thunder...
but nothing happened...

we got a few sprinkles and it just passed us by...
so out to water we went...

and I dead headed the lilies...
the tiger lilies are all done now...

but these day lilies are still going...

and its almost time to pick green beans again...
might just do that in the morning, if its not raining...
80% chance...

I see the surgeon again tomorrow afternoon...
for another boob job...
so took a down day today...

the rose of sharon are showing some color on the buds now...
should be open by the weekend...

I do want to thank everyone for all the prayers for Courtney and her family...
and the doctors...
He is still working in her...
not so long ago, they all thought she would be lucky to be here by Christmas time this year...
and God is proving them wrong over and over...

proof that I do do something around here...
even on piddle days...

I had the guys helping with clean up in the kitchen tonight after the pizzas went in the oven...
they informed me that our kitchen cook area isn't big enough for all our big butts to fit in it...
so, I left them to it, and sat down for a bit...
I don't think that's what they were hinting about, but hey...
I don't take hints...

there's one good thing about big flowers...
you only need one!

have you ever dropped a candle?
I did that all by myself...
;0)

did I mention that my old doctor is back?
the one that helped me so much and made sure I got the gall bladder out?
well, he is and I switched back to him...
need to call his nurse tomorrow and see if he wants to see me or if they can just call in a script for my test strips...
;0)
I am just thrilled to have him back and can't wait to see him again...
he also brought one of his nurses back with him...
Clint stayed with him and followed him to the clinic he went to...
they are a team, for sure...

we are stopping at the Curly Q tomorrow night on the way home for supper...
the guys favorite places to eat, but I like Burger King...
but I will suck it up for the team...
and get a foot long hot dog...
those are good, too...
and maybe some ice cream or a shake...
my favorite shake flavor is butterscotch...
and they make those...
or a hot fudge sundae to eat on the way home...
hmmmm...
its going to be a hard decision...
did someone say?
'why not do both?'
not sure who said that, but you're my kind of person!
;0)
have a fun day tomorrow!

UPDATE ON COURTNEY: FROM HER FACEBOOK PAGE THIS AFTERNOON!

'My prayer was i wouldnt need the surgery...prayer answered and miracle received!!!:-) The liver has responded very well we are adding a chemo drug that will cause a more rapid shrinkage but at this point since im responding well we are making surgery the last option so that we dont have to take out tumors we are just taking out lymph nodes.....God is good! Miracles happen and I am living proof!'

GOD IS SO GOOD!
He is still working on her and through her...
her testimony it awesome!
thank you for all your prayers!

praying for Courtney today...

this is my cousin's son, Kevin...
his wife Courtney and their kids...
Courtney is the one that I asked for prayers for a while back...
colon cancer...
here is what she posted last night...
So here it is Sunday night! Tomorrow is a BIG day! Please pray and wear your bracelets tomorrow! We believe the miracle has already been fulfilled and I guarantee you will hear me screaming from OSU tomorrow
she has done all the chemo and junk you have to do when you have cancer cells in your body...
and all of it without one side effect...
and every time she goes in for lab work...
even before she started chemo...
the numbers kept getting better...
we believe that God has already healed her body...
that the cancer cells are no longer there...
that He has big plans for her...
that the anointing has been done...
and today...
the doctors will find out the power in the blood of Christ...
this family has so much faith in Him...

early morning on the prairie...

good afternoon!
its been a busy and productive weekend for us...
2 hard days in the yard for DH...
I kept up as well as I could...

corn field down on the corner...
got tassels and silks...

we had most everything done in the last 2 days but this...
DH planted his willow tree this morning...

and I dead headed and took photos...
because with all the doings going on yesterday...
I never got the camera out...

after an early morning walk with dad, Charlie went on clean up detail...
he couldn't even see where he was going...
hilarious...
but we had to get this back...
to file with the receipt in case the tree doesn't make it...
a tug of war happened...
and I was laughing too hard to take a photo...

Doug and Paula came yesterday and we went out to the fish fry...
so many were there!
we couldn't even find a seat, so we got it to go and came back here and ate.
then I got a message on fb for help...
took off to save a kitty...
but he is fine, weened and all...
but so tiny...
and the lady who found him is going to keep him...
he will be a little brother for Annie, the kitty we adopted out early this year...
Shannon, the mommie, went with us then to the fireworks at the golf course here in town...
and those crazy guys we call our volunteer firemen....
set them off for a good hour...
it was awesome...
its been 30 years since we have had fireworks here in town...
we didn't get home until 10:30 and it was midnight by the time I got everyone cleared out of here...
cleaning up in here after lunch...
I don't know when it happened, but a bomb went off in here, big time...
and the heat and humidity are coming back...
UGH!
but we did have 3 wonderfully cooler days with little humidity and it was wonderful...
and we did get so much done...
and there is so many leftovers, not sure when I will have to cook again...
;0)
hope your weekend was a fun one...
and a safe one!
