new fun stuff...

pick up a few things on Saturday morning at the shop up town...

its kind of like a free thrift shop...

you just take something in, like a bag full of stuff you don't want...

and I also took a bag of bags this time...

then you grab a bag and see what you want...

and I found this and a few more things...

and I loved the frame on this little print....

but when I got it home and read it...

I decided not to recycle it just yet...

its going the bedroom...

and I found this at the store...

yeah, like I was going to pass that up...

and I have been cleaning today and hanging curtains...

washing towels....

which are still in the washer...

fed me once...

and the babies twice so far...

I got this last weekend...

my camera and cord fit in it perfectly...

I got one like it that's larger and darker in colors...

that's going to be my new make up box....

I think...

sorting and getting rid of things around here...

only to bring new things back in...

DH said I was still ahead, though...

more has been going out than coming in...

so that's a good sign...

right?

the rain finally stopped and the sun came out...

but its so humid and nasty out there...

corn...

and everything is bigger here...

even our weeds...

and this old apple tree down the street is feeding so many this summer...

birds, bugs, bats...

finally got the yard mowed this afternoon after 2 weeks...

and there are spots of white clouds and blue again...

not just a gray overcast...

a hole in the sky...

things are slowing down and dying out...

this is getting a major pruning this fall...

its over due...

cleaned out half of the closet and my dresser today and have a big bag to head out of here this week...

DH picking tomatoes this evening...

got a package of chicken legs and fried half of them up...

made mashed taters and gravy...

and northern beans on the side...

it was really good...

we don't fry foods very often, so I really enjoyed it...

home grown...

there's a hint of fall around here...

and not all things are doing good...

but there's not that much time left...

so will just pull these soon and dump the pots...

Lester babysitting...

Charlie...

I finally put him in my wheel chair so Lester couldn't get him...

and he liked it there...

oh, another week coming...

not sure if I am ready...

can't believe the weekend is gone...

Nick left early this morning for Michigan...

to find his forever home...

I am sure he will have no trouble doing that...

babies have taken to sleeping in the poop box and pooping out in the kennel...

ARG!

they are getting big and play now...

wanting to get them outside in the yard sometime to see how they do in the grass...

won't be long until they go home...

by then, harvest should be starting...

so, what are you end of summer plans?

anything left on your list of things to get done?

I have so many things that aren't going to happen this year...

because it doesn't feel like August...

we have had a couple days of rain with only.7 for a total...

but our high today was 71...

67 right now...

had to dig a hoodie out this morning...

in August...

well, what have you been up to this week?  

I need to find some time and get around to you...

I need to get caught up...

babies are taking more food...

pooping more...

Nick has had a rough week...

and had this cough off and on and it was really bad tonight...

he was scheduled to head north to Michigan...

to an elite rescue...

but may not be going now...

he needs another 2 weeks on the antibiotic for the Lyme's...

now the cough, which could be a partial intestinal blockage...

something like grass in his throat or complications from the Lyme's or the meds he is on for it...

he could have a hair ball,even...

the problem is we don't know what he has been fed or given...

if he was on his own or for how long...

its not kennel cough...

we gave his 3 T of peroxide tonight...

and it has helped so much...

he should have thrown up, but he didn't...

we can't send him to another rescue not knowing what is going on, so thinking he will stay in this area for a bit...

but, we got through the week...

and I was left on my own for most of it...

and even kept the house pretty clean to boot...

even started an online auction for the rescue...

someone told them I was a computer geek or something like that...

I will find whoever did that...

I see the dietitian on Wednesday to get me figure out...

she is going to have her hands full with that...

then sometime we have to get the truck back in...

the fuel gauge isn't working...

or we are getting really good gas mileage...

maybe some shopping in there, too...

if I'm lucky and I can find some cool stuff at Good Will again...

thinking I might need some flannel shirts to garden in...

well, that's what the week held for me...

not very exciting...

lots of bottles...

lots of walks...

rainy, dreary days...

and some naps in there every now and then...
