got some major stuff done today...

been a busy day for all of us...

and she has really played hard today...

she is about to join her new family very soon...

the paper work was dropped off today and all we need to do is meet up with them to hand her over...

but, we have 2 more coming in...

just wait until you see them...

a day of moving things around...

room to room...

a making a new place for me and my stuff...

got plans to do more, but you can only do so much in one day...

hope you all had good days...

we are warming up here a bit and had the windows open today...

but it sure cools off as soon as the sun starts to set and the dew comes on fast...

coyote crossing...

right after we came in the house from taking pics...

I was sitting at the kitchen table looking out to the island...

and there was a coyote crossing the yard...

and it went right behind it...

in daylight...

it was carrying its back leg, so its hurt and probably hungry...

I'm glad we were all inside...

there are still some things blooming around here...

not much, though...

things are really winding down...

I am going to get these again next year, if we can find them...

and there she goes again...

the sun finally came out this afternoon!

I have so missed it...

still in the 60s here, but should warm up a bit more by the weekend...

I could do with that...

of yesterday's drive...

we had a day full of rain here again...

beans...

too cold and too wet to be out in it much...

beans, again...

the farmers who had been picking used the morning to haul corn to the elevators...

so when the rains come, DH usually doesn't work over...

so he was home early tonight...

and we had hamburgers and chili for supper...

love this...

we what's hiding behind the fence?

used to have one of these in the side yard on the farm...

and it was the best tasting water around...

until the summer a toad drowned in it...

took awhile for that to go away...

the road sides are covered in this by the time the harvest is done...

and more clover and butterflies...

and another shot of that wonderful apple tree...

got a dandy sore throat going on....

but I am on anitbiotics...

our little neighbor girl has strep throat...

and she was breathing on me!

I don't have my tonsils, but it sure feels like I used to before I got them out...

maybe doing another trip to the doctor this week...

not getting a lot done around here except the basics...

no fun projects at all...

lots of laundry...

which I need to fold a load here soon...

and refold a load Craig did earlier...

got around an inch and a half of rain, so won't be working outside for a day or two...

maybe three...

almost ready to dig out the halloween stuff...

almost...

just 2 more weeks and I can start putting that up...

and then Thanksgiving will happen and then...

the fat man comes...

100 days until he jumps on that old sleigh and heads out...

just thought you might like to know that...

hoping the sun shines tomorrow...

as summer slips away...

fall steps in...

the corn started coming out this last week...

here, they just took out the in rows so the rest will dry out better...

some still showing some green...

it was a wonderful morning for a drive in the country...

some fields are bare, but not many...

and the water in the creeks and rivers is muddy from the recent rains...

and for those not pickin' yet, they are getting ready to go...

one old road was lined with hundreds of butterflies in the clover...

it was pretty awesome...

another field done gone...

I wish this was my tree...

look at all that apple sauce, apple cider, apple pies and cakes...

another super busy day here and DH's only day off this week...

but its almost over and everyone is in bed here...

Precious will be leaving soon, I am sure...

had friends of ours fill out the adoption form today...

and there were 3 others who asked about her through the rescue...

our friends will find out tomorrow if they get her or not...

she could be leaving here tomorrow...

and we are about 10 days out of the kitties going...

it may get a little quiet around here...

sure it won't last long...

worked on the front flower bed today, too...

getting ready for that white stuff to fall...

and it won't be long...

more finds and sunshine...

Craig snagged 2 sets of golf clubs...

$15 for both...

I got another wheel chair...

$10...

its small size lets us get into tighter places...

like our town grocery store where the isles are very tight...

things are winding down around here...

64 for a high yesterday...

and the leaves falling off of the walnut are allowing the sun to trickle through again...

the autumn clematis is done...

but it sure has grown this year and almost hides the bird house now...

blue skies through the walnut...

the nuts are falling...

they are picking corn even with the high moisture content...

we need some really hot days before the frost comes...

it will not dry on the stalk any more after the frost...

harvest will soon be in full swing...

and our lives will be insane again...

but its a good insane...

the harvest money gets us through the winter...
