call me nuts...

but I couldn't see wasting these images...
took these on our drive Monday...
this one was by the road, looking both ways before crossing the street...

I think I might have gotten up way too early, so am going to try to sneak back to bed for an hour or so...

prayers, please...
that this goes well...

DH voiced his choice of lunch today...
Curly Q...
sliders and a chocolate milk shake...
I can do that...
;0)
he's still eating cheap...

I am doing my whopper...
because I know how it will react and how high my blood sugar will go with it...
it is really, quite low in that area and I can do that without any problem...
no chocolate shake, though...
that could send me into a coma...
;0)

the sun is coming up and everything it turning gold outside...
but its in the 40s, so not going out there...

we have a major chance of frost this weekend...
I really hope so...
so the leaves will turn more...
the grass will stop growing...
and the bugs DIE!
am I bad, or what?
I will post later on what happens with Dr. G...
have good days!

our deli and pumpkin patch visit...

its a little bitty town...
but its known for its green...
John Deere green...

and for farm land and buildings...

a small deli/ convenience store/gas station...
( gossip swappin'/ lottery ticket buyin'/ pizza- burger place)

I ran the antique mall there a few years back...
and the people are the best...

its also known for this...
our only whirly gig around...
and it was spinnin' like crazy when we were there...
and of course its known for the pumpkin place...
just a couple of old farmers who grow them and sell them at their home...
but the sun was heading down and coming straight at us...
so no pics of the that...
they wouldn't have come out...
but its a nice place...
the guys were picking corn just across the road and down a small hill...
got to watch them in action...
;0)
these people I know pretty good...
they owned the antique mall...
;0)
greatest people to work for...
ever...

got another 5 hours or so to go before my man walks through that door again...
I know there's going to be a nap in there somewhere...
I have to keep my routine today so I have a good day tomorrow to get to the doctor and do a little shopping...
just for a few things to tide us until harvest is done...
I got to see a video of my new doc today talking about Parkinson's...
and Praise the Lord!
I can understand him...
;0)
that was one of my biggest concerns...
because I have had a few that so hard to understand...
I had to have the nurses translate for me...
;0)
this new guy is such a baby...
so young...
pray for me that I don't slip up and call him Scooter...
its a name I call my kids and their friends...
I am going to try so hard to be on my best behavior...
and its so hard for me to do sometimes...
;0)
I will post tomorrow after the appointment...
and fill you all in on this first encounter...

hope your day is a good one!
;0)

pumpkin therapy for betrayal...

found this blue pumpkin at the pumpkin patch...
and had a wonderful talk with Judy, who I miss so much...

it looks good on my deck...

and a gourd and another blue pumpkin...
got 3 small ones, too...
2 white, one striped...
for inside...

got these shots this morning...
after a long day yesterday and an unrestful night...
I came to a decision...

the new meds came with instructions to tell my doctor about certain things before I started taking them...
and so a simple phone call to him turned into several...
and his nurses were upset with him also...
I only had one question...

here's my concern and can I take them?
yes or no?
simple, really, or so I thought...

since I have insurance, he wouldn't give me the answer...
I was to make another appointment...
knowing we are in harvest...
knowing how hard it is for me to get there...
knowing it would be next Monday before Craig could get me there...
knowing my blood sugar is spiking into the 200s when I eat...

3 times I bed the nurse to tell me yes or no...
3 times, they said he will not answer that question without coming in to see him...
( I was just there last Thursday and he called the meds in)
so, I called the lady that you have to talk to to change your primary care physician...
she wanted to know what happened and I told her...
she asked if I would tell someone else...
to report this...
I said ok...
so she transferred me to another lady...
who was quite upset...
seems my question was not unreasonable and that he should of answered me without another trip...
soooooo, we talked about the other physicians...
they have 2 new ones just starting out there...
and the advisory nurse helped me pick one out and I was going to change after my next appointment with said doctor was over...

so after a day full of ups and downs...
Craig and I headed 8 miles south and grabbed some pumpkins and hit the deli for our lunch meat for the week...
this is Sarah...
and this is why the towels aren't folded yet...
she is over 4 months old now...
closer to 5...
she is so small...
and my constant companion...

this morning, the new doctor's nurse called me...
saying he would take me as a new patient...
(the advisory nurse went down yesterday afternoon and talked to her personally about what was going on...)
(DH had called me late yesterday telling me that he had Thursday off for his day off in 14 and he could take me if I could get an appointment made for that day...
instead of waiting for Monday...)
are you keeping up?
sorry its messed up...
anyway...
so after this morning's phone call...
I start thinking...
I would really love one more time with this doctor to tell him off...
but that would defeat everything, really...
that during harvest, I need to make my visits count...
and getting to someone who will take care of me and get my blood sugar down is the most important thing right now...
not ranting on this guy...
so, I talked to Craig...
and I called the advisory nurse and talked to her...
and...
long story short...
I am seeing the new guy on Thursday...
old guy is out of there...
I really thought that this guy cared about me...
ME...
but I found out yesterday all he cares about is my insurance...
bottom line...
its the money...
and I felt betrayed...
I thought I was more than a number...
that he saw me as a person...
I still love the clinic, hospital and all the other staff there...
they do care and they take really good care of us...

well, the sun just dipped below the horizon here...
another day marked off...
DH didn't get home until after 9 last night...
but I was flaring and already in bed...
I got up to spend about 45 minutes with him before he headed for bed...
he was so tired...
and he has to spend his only day off in 14 taking me to Paris again...
its totally not fair...
I will take him out for lunch...
;0)
whoppers all the way around...
have a good night...

autumn on the prairie...

we have only been down in the 40s, so the fall  color is slow coming this year...
but there is a start of it now...

we have had some very perfect days...
lows in the 40s and it has been warming up into the 60s-70s...
and most of the time, the sun is out...

DH is working the whole weekend...
but my son is home today and tomorrow...

he took me for a ride this morning before the Bears' game...

waiting for it to get over with so we can make a quick store run here in town...

we have had a super dry fall...
so things are not flowing and turning the prettiest frankenstein green...

most of the leaves are just curling up and turning brown...
won't be the prettiest of falls...

some of the farmers are down with harvest and turning ground now...

that big white thing is a ground pile...
when the elevator gets full, they dump it there and will haul it out later...
this is the first one here in town...
(there will be 2)
where DH works, they have started on the 2nd one already...
they only dump corn in them...

good weekend for chili...
and heading to grab some hamburger...
so we can have something else to eat as this runs out...

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday with friends and family...
turkey and all the good stuff...
I would love to have Thanksgiving this time of the year...
that would give us so much more time to get ready for the Christmas season...
;0)
or the first week of November...
then we could just roll from Halloween right into pie eating time...
and the weather would be nicer for gatherings...
and putting Christmas lights up outside...
just a thought...
you know when they picked a date...
there weren't outside lights and plastic snowmen yet...
I think we should write congress about this...
;0)
all those in favor...
leave a comment...
;0)

happy weekend...

it took me awhile this morning to figure out it was the weekend...
feels like Friday to me...

that's what harvest does to you...
(not blaming old age today)
no smirking!
;0)

the train is non stop here...
got to get the grain shipped out of town...

we were out for a walk so went down and watched it go by...

Craig is in the shower getting ready to head to work...
I have been up since 4am...

so I am getting a nap in today...
;0)

I have got my work almost done...
the last load of clothes is about to come out of the dryer...
once they're hung up and folded, I'm snoozin'...
that will be my 3rd load today...
that's enough...
got 2 pots of chili made...
my wimpy one...
and the guys' spicier one...
dishes are almost done and the kitchen doesn't look like a bomb went off anymore...
;0)
hope y'all are having a good weekend...
nothing too hard going on...
find a pumpkin patch and drink some cider...
;0)
got to get moving and get my grocery list made for Craiger...
BEFORE he leaves...
;0)
see ya tomorrow!
