happy Friday...

we made it through another week here...

flaring today, so laying low...

that's a hawk there...

and a calico in the woods...

not sure if anything will be done this weekend the way I am right now...

we had rain move in yesterday after lunch, but I did get the mowing done...

and through the night the temp dropped a bit...

no more 70s...

we got 50s now...

but its still nice and pretty...

I hope we can work some more on the kitchen...

Doug will be gone all weekend...

he is heading for Chicago for a deaf convention with Paula...

DH is doing better, but it might be a good weekend just to let him rest...

got a follow up appointment made with the doctor for Monday afternoon...

Halloween decorations are down and starting on the christmas lights...

got a few strands up and on already...

well, they are what we use for low lighting around the house and deck anyway...

just replaced the old strands with new ones now that all the stores are stocked with christmas stuff...

can you believe I mowed off dandy lion poofs?

can you believe that the neighbor's magnolia tree is all budded out?

me, neither, but its true...

got dry skin...

need to find the lotion...

I am already flakey enough...

got roses blooming up a storm...

even have some inpatients blooming, too...

I piled leaves up on perfectly good blooms...

but we have to get it done sometime and better it being 70 out than -20...

so there, that's my life the last few days...

and working on the toy drive, too...

I might lose my mind soon...

well, gotta run...

there's dishes and laundry...

floors, supper...

geez, I need to come up with a plan for supper...

forgot about that...

half way through the week...

got some things done outside today...

thought I had dropped the belt on the mower, but it was a quick fix after hubby got home...

just stopped up with crap...

raked and hauled and blew leaves from one place to another...

then started on the mowing before supper...

got over half of it done before it got dark...

I hate these hours!

will get it finished sometime this week...

dumped some pots and still have roses blooming...

in the 70s here...

wore a tank top...

go figure...

Doug might have an apartment, not sure...

got to fill our another application and he didn't get there in time today before the office closed...

so probably go back tomorrow...

we are all slowly on the mend here...

except for DH...

he still sounds awful...

I am heading for bed early tonight...

both kids are gone and I am pupt...

have a good night....

I finally have my voice back...

its been a long 5 days of this stuff...

but I finally feel better...

I had almost lost my voice completely last week...

then I sounded like a budweiser frog...

Doug is good and Craig is improving...

DH came home hacking and coughing and his voice was toast last night...

everything here is on stand by...

waiting for all of us to be good to go...

I am able to keep up the basics and keep us fed...

made potato soup today...

we haven't had that forever...

and it would be nice on a cool day...

but we are back in the 70s and have the air on...

we had some thick as pea soup fog last night and this morning...

and I heard the most awful commotion going on right behind us, just about the time Craig was due home...

a pack of coyotes had someone's smaller dog...

and it took them a long time to kill it...

and I will never forget the sound....

ever...

and there was nothing we could do with the fog that dense...

no way of getting a clear shot...

or seeing one come at you from no where...

we had to just listen to it...

I ran out and got Craig as soon as he pulled up...

told him to leave everything and head for the door...

its just insane at how they are coming into town more and more here...

town critters are easy kills...

neighbors leave feed out for them...

one of these days, its going to be a person screaming for help...

and until then, nothing will be done about it...

;(

other than that, life is going on as usual around here...

laundry, dishes and mopping...

(I use a steamer, so its not that bad)

been doing my nappin', too...

Happy Halloween....

I have been missing in action for several days now...

been sick...

whatever the kids had/ have...

found me...

living on Nyquil and fluids...

the coughing is terrible...

and I lost my voice some time in the night before Friday morning...

I missed the harvest party with DH and the people he works with last night...

I even called and cancelled my doctor's appointment yesterday morning...

I am better...

but its not gone...

we worked on the second wall in the kitchen today...

I made it through the first coat of paint until I had to take a nap...

the guys did great with the rest and I got up in time to move it all back...

one more to go and then the built ins...

going to wait until I am over this to try that again...

its raining here and there have been no trick or treaters at our house...

DH and I drove around and didn't see very many...

nothing like it used to be when our kids were small...

it makes me sad...

I am sure a lot of people are out celebrating with it being on a Saturday night...

nothing much else happening here...

trying to get over all the sickness so we can get the yard work done...

before the snow flies...

med central going here...

got 2 sick kids...

and yesterday wasn't a good day for me...

but today, me meds are finally kicking in...

and its much better...

Doug came back last night...

he had no where else to go...

found some things out that he hadn't told us...

like he was evicted from his apartment...

for not keeping it clean...

he wasn't raised that way and not sure why he didn't heed their warnings...

and from I have gathered, there were many...

and this apartment he is trying to get...

he needs a co-signer...

and we are not going there...

he will just have to keep looking...

and until then...

he will be here as long as he behaves...

he has to man up and get this right...

its way past time...

and when the guys aren't sick anymore...

I can make lists of things to do to keep him busy...

pray for me...

its not going to be fun around here, I am sure...

and we have the toy drive gearing up...

and I still need oral surgery...

yippee...

ya know, God put him back here with us for a reason...

its time to go to work on it...

got rain here today and it so looks like fall...

squirrels are busy little dudes...

and I have this young one, born this year...

he grabs a nut and runs to the window here and shows me his prize before running off to hide it...

he looks so proud with his nuts...

its been 21 years today that I found my mom gone at her home...

hard to believe...

seems like a lifetime ago, yet, she really never went away...
