it's cow time...

found these critters out of their pasture around noon today...

bad for them, good for me...

got some close ups...

I came home and tattled on them...

so hopefully, they got them put back before dark happened...

how cute is that?

there's nothing cuter than calves in the winter...

they are fuzzier...

and they can be pretty funny on ice...

so sweet...

DH and I have just hung out today...

and we sure needed it...

he just put in a week of 12-14 hours...

moving 2 ground piles of corn to the elevator...

and me and my rotator cuff problems...

but...

its paying off...

all the down time and PT I have been doing...

it is much, much better...

and my brother in law is working away at his PT in rehab...

they got a terrible winter snow storm on the east coast...

he's been watching it from the window...

he is improving every day...

just takes a bit to get your strength back...

we are warming up here...

its not 60 yet, so no jumping up and down...

but its out of the single digits and -0 wind chills...

still looking forward to spring, which is another day closer now...

and if you have time, keep Nana Diana and her old fart in your prayers for the next several weeks...

he is doing chemo and radiation...

and they are working their tails off to kick this thing to the curb...

it takes so much time and energy...

physical, mental and spiritual...

she is such a fire house of get up and go, but she only has so much...

she could use the extra angels on her side...

just keep them close in your heart and keep whispering their names over and over to the big guy upstairs...

I am sure he knows them well...

the good thing about snow and ice is that it has to melt sometime...

he is old and the cold hurts...

they are moving 2 ground piles to the bins...

no breaks, just loading trucks and hauling all day long...

back and forth...

until its all in...

I am sure that January already has had us thinking a little bit...

I know for me, I have seen my youth flash before me more than once...

with the deaths of the great icons of my childhood...

David Bowie and Glenn Frey, for two of them...

memories have flooded back from a time I truly miss...

and I know I am so blessed to have grown up in the time that I did...

and that time is precious...

we so need to spend is wisely...

this is a water color painted by a local artist, Joyce Callaway...

she is awesome and as you know, I like to take photos...

and post them on a blog I created for our town and surrounding area...

she asked if she could use some of my images for inspiration for her water color painting...

and I said...

help yourself!

and this is the first one that she has done...

and I did it!

finally finished this project...

and more to go...

and I did this yesterday, too...

printed off a pretty image and grabbed some saved cereal box parts...

I wanted to run the image through the cuttle bug, but at full size it wouldn't fit...

so, I cut the image in thirds...

that let it fit in the die...

and this is what they looked like after running them through...

glued it all on the cereal box pieces (2 glued together)...

toped with a sheet of black card stock...

put a hanger danger on it and it was done...

looks cute on the wall...

then I started playing with these...

just getting started...

need to make some clothes for this one...

need to refill my bear clothes tote...

but love the shoes...

need to make a tie for him, too...

its almost time to start of valentines and easter cards, too...

been thinking about different ideas for some really cute ones...

limited on how much time I spend doing this stuff and what I am able to do right now...

the shoulder is doing better, but this rotary cuff stuff hurts pretty good sometimes...

still doing my pt and working things out...

improvement is happening but not fast enough for me...

twas a bitter cold three day weekend for us...

I did not get out this weekend...

so I played inside...

I redesigned the cover of a cheap mini photo album...

inside back cover...

because I ran across a few packs of photos that I had developed to do scrapbooks and albums with...

some of my favorite photos from 2014...

and now I need to go through all my photos again and find my favorites of last year and have those printed at Walmart.com...

so next winter, I will have something to do...

the room is coming together...

at least I can find stuff again...

and I found a calendar book...

so I am recording what I make in my playroom day by day...

so I can see where all my wasted time goes...

I found these, too...

started them a few years ago and need to get them done...

still looking for the hinges...

took them off to do the boxes and now its a mystery on where I stuck them...

and I found 5 more of these bears to do and a cat...

and I have the clothes all in a tub now...

so this is on the list for this month...

it is so bitter cold here...

and it snowed again...

just a dusting, but they say there is more coming later this week...

and what we got isn't melting...

doing better with the rotator cuff, until I overdo it...

and then more pt and it feels better and I get up and do something else...

so, going to be good a couple of days and see what happens...

my brother in law was moved to a rehab facility today...

to get his strength and energy levels back up...

had a nasty kidney infection...

he is on the mend, but has some way to go yet...

I am sure he is ready to go home by now...

he is helping me plan my garden for next year...

he is helping me pick a watermelon that will ripen in time in my area, too...

first thing we have to do is remove those corn stalks...

yee haw...

my favorite all time thing to do...

but it beats snow and cold...

can't do it now...

its froze to the ground...

so, I have been laying kind of low...

we have had some warm days here...

with colder coming...

I think I will probably stay in and hide from winter...

unless I get the old man to go for a ride so I can get some more photos...

not sure what, but we got to eat something...

I am sure there will be sports on tv...

would like prayers for my brother in law...

he landed in the hospital this week...

and its nothing life threatening...

but I think its where he needed to be to get lined out...

and back on his feet...

he called me from the hospital...

he was bored...

so that's a good sign...
