rainy days are here again...

feels like spring, looks like spring...

the lilac in front of the shed is leafing out...

day lilies are getting bigger...

daffodils are almost blooming...

and the crocus are still going...

the field behind us...
a river of cornstalks runs through it...

part of our back yard...
we have to get those raked up...

red maple...
with a fly...

another patch of crocus...

rain and fog is the thing this week...
storms maybe today...

ready for some sun and a little wind to dry this all up...
so we can get back to working in the yard again...

been cleaning inside, as I can...
doing a little bit better now...
not completely back to normal, but it takes time for me...

;0)
we are going between having the furnace on to the central air...
its hovering around 60 here, even into the night...

add a hot flash in there, and well, you know there is not much sleeping through that...
up and down, so nappin' is a must...
;0)

typical spring-like activity going on here...
looking for the bloom or leaf coming out...
enjoying not wearing a ton of clothes...
thinking about shaving my legs...
;0)
not got to it yet, but...
I am in my flip flops in the house...

thinking about buying the garden veggie seeds...
maybe we can hit Paris this weekend...
so ready to think about all the things we are going to be doing soon...

things will change so much week to week now...
until the leaves are out on the trees and the grass is being mowed weekly again...
;0)
hope your day is wonderful!

life...

an old, old friend of mine passed away this morning...
during the mid morning rain...
news came after the sun had come out and the most magnificent rainbow appeared...

I met this woman many years ago...
at work...
when I started, they put me right across from her...
we were much younger then...
and she was the sweetest soul...
and funnier than Bob Hope...

when lunch time came...
she grabbed ahold of me and told me she would show me the ropes...
;0)
we always sat at the same table for 2, up against the wall...
and she pretty much ate the same thing every day...
sausage on a biscuit...
her favorite thing...
;0)
and we would talk the lunch time away...
and we took our breaks there, too...
just us...

she was one of those friends of mine...
and when it happens you know...
we just clicked instantly...
one you always keep in your heart the rest of your life...
no matter how long its been since you last seen them...
25+ years she has been tucked inside of me...
and I always thought we would have more time...
time to get together and sit down and have one of our talks...
like the old days...
catch up on this and that...
but we didn't...
she fell in her home last week...
and her brother in law was one of the first responders...
she couldn't make sense of things and had no clue what was happening...
they transported her and she got worse...
ending up on a vent and life support...
and daily, they tried to take her off the vent...
but her blood pressure would go up and her oxygen level dropped...
one last cat scan said it was time to turn off the machines...
so they did at the end of the week and waited...
for the angels to come and show her the way home...
(cause she kind of gets side tracked)
;0)
but that's Marci...
she was an amazing person...
and in leaving, she taught me one of the most important lessons in my life...
DON'T WAIT for the right moment...
take the time now...
to say what you need to say...
to visit someone you miss...
I have buried a lot of family and people that I have known...
but I have never, ever buried a friend before...
I honestly thought we had more time...
and we will over there...
under a tree somewhere...
eating sausage biscuits...
I just regret not doing it here...
God speed, dear friend...

spring forward...

have you bought anything yet?

I have not...

but it is tempting...

maybe some pansies to start with....

ready or not, spring has sprung...

daffodils...
and leaves...

crocus...
and leaves...

more daffodils...
and leaves...

another blooming crocus...
and leaves...
do you see a pattern here?
;0)

we have got so much to uncover...

sedum...
and leaves...

tulips...
and leaves...

iris...
and leaves...

dead heading needs done, too...

columbine...
and leaves...

now that we waited too long...
much of this will have to be done by hand...
you cannot put a rake through things when they are up this high without pulling them out or apart...
;0)
guess we will be putting that extra hour of daylight to good use...
;0)

looks like another rainy day here...

but the last couple of weekends...
while we have been out...

I have been gathering a few things...

I love the fabric I found at Walmart...
have a few projects in the planning stage...
can't wait to see how it all comes out...

so, on rainy days such as this...
you will probably find me in my play room...

I have a lot on my heart and mind this week...
so many in need of prayer...
so many sick...
tired...
weary...
looking for answers...
seeking His guidance...
turning it over to God...
keeping a prayer going throughout the day...
for His hand to touch those who need Him most...
there is nothing that He can't do...
;0)

I hope your week has been an easy one...
and that your weekend is extra special...
