washi day...

my plans have been squashed like a bug!

we have extremely high winds today...

and there is a wind chill!

so what do you do?

you play!

I had this wall sticky thingy that kept curling and finally fell off the wall...

so, I still liked it and decided to stick it to something...

so, I grabbed an old cereal box and headed to the playroom...

added paper, glue and washi tape...

I did the first letter "T" last year, but Walmart was out of the rest of the letters that I needed...

remember that I finally found them last month or maybe the month before...

been too sick to care about it until now...

so...

I now have a full name!

not sure where its going...

but I will hang it somewhere!

just sitting here wishing it wasn't so windy...

and watching the birds try their wing at the feeders...

flapping against the wind and waving in the breeze as they try to hang onto the forsythia...

then there's the squirrels...

hanging on for dear life, bobbing back and forth...

DH went down  to the deli this morning without me...

good thing...

it was an "E" ride all the way there and back!

this should die down in a couple hours...

but then we have freeze warnings this coming week...

its crazy spring weather...

the poor mower guy looked like an eskimo...

;0)

better him than me...

(I didn't say that)

for a little bit, anyway...

got a teeny, tiny chance of some tomorrow...

but not even enough of a chance to really mention...

we are so ready for a nice weekend...

our neighbor's magnolia tree...

the blooms are almost spent...

it was nice out this afternoon, but windy...

it is almost done...

the raking...

of the dreaded...

its not been fun at all...

and there was so much of it...

I am ready to get onto the fun stuff...

but its too early to plant...

or do a whole lot else...

so...

the rest can just wait a bit...

seems funny having Easter over and done with...

and its still not warm, warm...

just now ready to decorate for it...

maybe next year...

why I love blogging...

why?

hmmm....

could be a million and one reasons...

but I think for me...

it is sharing...

what God has made me into...

what God has gifted me with...

what God has blessed me with...

and who He has blessed me with...

sometimes, when we find blessings in places we never thought to look...

but when He leads us...

and we obey and follow...

He puts those in our lives that we need...

and who need us...

or HIM...

because for a lot of people...

WE are the first part of HIM that they meet...

WE are that open door that leads them to another life...

or a better one...

WE are useful to HIM...

when WE put HIM...

FIRST...

GOD put me in that place yesterday...

and through this blog...

HE spoke...

and a blessing happened on both ends...

I know there are some days when all we do is just pray for each other...

and it doesn't seem like a big deal...

BUT...

it is...

so writing this today with love to all of you...

good morning...

I am running a little bit behind today...

but wanted to get these photos posted that we took last evening in the yard...

got another pretty day here, just staying on the cooler side of warm...

but its not stopping things from growing...

its safe to say that mother nature is wide awake now...

one of our woodpeckers...

tulips are not blooming yet, but hoping by the weekend...

and the leaves have popped!

just big enough for a hint of green through the trees...

this one is a toe biter...

waiting for her new dad to get her...

I don't mind spoiler her for a bit longer...

I would be keeping her if we didn't have a house full already...

I hope your spring has sprung!

Easter egg hunt on Saturday...

meet Eli...

I know you have probably met him here before...

but we have a tradition of watching him egg hunt every year...

DH works with his dad, so they are just friends of ours...

but we really like this guy...

 our egg hunt is on the square in our little town...

and all the kids come...

the little kids  hunt eggs right in the middle of the square...

the bigger kids are in grassy areas, just off of the square...

which I think is where we will have to go next year to watch Eli...

Eli was all about finding eggs this year...

he had his game on...

he knew just what to do and went about doing it...

there was just no stopping him until his basket was full...

it was a beautiful day...

a little cool, but a hoodie took care of that...

time to open the eggs!

they are full of candy and sometimes, if you are lucky, there will be a piece of paper inside saying that you have won a huge Easter basket from the Easter Bunny!

Eli got one last year, but not this time...

but he did get a pile of candy...

and he was good with that...

now the whole time the guys were hunting for eggs...

his mama was asking me about adopting dogs through the rescue where we got Charlie and I help out with at times...

so, when we got back home, I was on it...

by Sunday afternoon, Eli had a dog...

a rescue dog named Gretchen...

they met her and took her home...

and Eli has a new forever buddy to hang out with and take to the park with him every day...

isn't she just beautiful?

she came in pregnant and had her pups...

they are being adopted out now...

the pups go quickly, but not so much the moms...

so happy they picked the mom!

no more shelters for her!

its a win/win...

they got an awesome dog...

and she got an awesome family!

our Easter blessing this year...
