it all came together...

we spent about 3 minutes with the insurance agent...
and they took care of the rest...

picked up what we needed at Walmart....
couldn't get into the clinic, but hit Burger King on the way home...

and then I called about this car...
she met us an hour later...

test drive and checked it all out...
and Craig wrote a check...

and we brought it home...
have to do all the legal stuff when the DMV opens on Tuesday...
but the day went so smoothly and prayers really do work...
I had a Sable years ago and dearly loved it...
I think he's going to be happy with this one...
;o)

he's ok...

 the truck...
not so much...

Craig was in an accident on his way to work yesterday afternoon...
I got the call...
"Mom, the truck's totaled, but I'm ok, got to go, the cops are here."

priorities change again...
looking for a car for him, dealing with the insurance, getting into the clinic...
think I have bronchitis...
will be busy this weekend getting all that done...
they gave him a few days off of work to look for something to drive...

but God was good and we got to keep the most important one...
;o)
he is fine, not a scratch...
seatbelt and air bag...
and an angel or two or three...

he has a ticket to pay...
I think they were both at fault, but its not worth fighting...
we only had liability on the truck...
so starting from scratch and this boy is going to be making his first car payment, ever...
the truck had 250,000 miles on it...
so...
I believe that something was going to go wrong, maybe terribly wrong with it...
and God took it away before that happened...

Craig is just sick about it...
but I keep telling him...
things happen for a reason...
;o)

keep us in your prayers this weekend...
that things fall into place for us...
he can't afford to lose his job...
for no transportation...
have a good weekend, yourselves...

change of plans and priotrities...

one of the babies that needs a new home...

the first glad...

as the summer slips away...
I made THE trip to the dentist yesterday...

only to be told, the end of the journey is not yet here...

I went to get my dentures...
and after making the top impression...
the dentist informs me that I need oral surgery on the bottom jaw to have dentures there...

he referred me to an oral surgeon that I have used in the past and love...

BUT...
I need to switch lanes here and get back to my medical doctor and get this blood sugar thing fixed now first...

the dentures will take another 6 months in the coming...
at least, now...
so onward and upward...
calling to get back into the GP this morning...
some days, it just never goes as planned...
or as I planned...

there is a reason, there always is...
;o)

I am disappointed that its going to take longer and I have more to go through than what I thought I was going to have to do...
but, I don't have to do it...
I CAN live without them...
its not the top priority now...
so, I have some decisions to make...
which road I take...

I at least got a whopper, a trip through the Goodwill and a weeks worth of groceries at Kroger...
the trip wasn't completely in vain!
have a great day...

steamy...

the weekend was better done on the inside...
but we did get a quick run around town (which doesn't take long) on Saturday doing errands...
(paying the water bill and checking the mail)

an old carriage house...
one of 2 left in town that I know of...

but I am afraid, not for long...

we had Doug and his girlfriend here yesterday...
and Craig's friend, Ben, showed up...

and these 4 kids and the old man were in and out, in and out...
and Charlie (the dog) kept barking...
and barking and barking...

our funeral home on Main Street...

a large gum tree fell in the wind storm we had about 10 days ago now...

lots of fire wood...

the sounds of chain saws, mowers, birds and cicada are common these days...

it sure looks different...
that tree provided a lot of shade in the warmer months...
but the house is so pretty...
the boy man who lives here is a vet...
and was on out little league team way back when...
dinosaurs roamed the earth...
he grew up to be a dandy dad and husband...
soldier and community worker...

anyway, about the weekend...
I mowed Friday night and some Saturday...
ours was done and I mowed the front third of the lots across the street...
still cleaning up that mess over there and the guy just doesn't have time to do it all...
so we helped out a bit...
just enough to let him get caught up and all...
he would do the same for us...
yesterday, I was ready to give my dog away...
all the barking,  he was a nervous wreck...
I don't think he has ever seen that door open and close that often ever...
and of course, he thinks he's security around here...
we did have one baby go to its home...
Craig and Ben delivered that one...
got to get photos of the rest and get them listed...
they are ready...
and that means when they are gone, the kitchen work will begin again...
but will wait until the humidity is lower...
so, that's the latest...
have a great week!

footprints..

when we take a step, we leave a print...
every single time...
when we love, we leave a print...
when we hate, we leave a print...
every single time...
when we give and help and hug, we leave a print...
when we get angry, ignore the broken and say its not my job...
we leave a print...
every single time...
we leave a mark where ever we go...
everything we do...
everyone we touch...
every single time...
every minute of every day for our entire lives...
we have left millions of prints...
every single minute...
and people see your prints...
in what you do, what you say, how you live...
every single time...
so the question is...
where do they lead?
every single time?

the world is broken...
and the only way to fix it...
is to leave better footprints...
every single time...
