nothing going on around here...

the biggest activity happening here lately...
Mr Peebody and Dexter...

have a few heart things around...
but not much...

just cooking, dusting, doing laundry...

staying home and staying in 99% of the time...

got 3 pot holders made...
with a lacey edge...
need to finish the throw that's in there...

DH got out this weekend...
to feed the birds...

ready to tackle this!
its not been a bad winter so far...
but the germs are everywhere!
mumps, pink eye and all kinds of flu bugs are flying around in the air here...
I feel sorry for the parents trying to keep their kids in school...
so grateful we survived that phase of our lives and its behind us now...
;o)
the guys watched the super bowl...
glad that's over, too...
now we can get back to normal...
maybe...
;o)
nothing major planned for us...
still keeping the blood sugar down...
;o)
hoping this was the answer I have been looking for for a few years now...
sometimes, its just something so simple...
with an easy fix...
can't wait to see the doctor scratch his head on this one...
;o)
have a great week!

happy heart month...

a few more photos from our snow storm on Sunday...

didn't slow the critters down at all...

this was the most snow we had at any given time...

I need to call the doctor's office and cancel my prescription for meds for the diabetes...
I had some elevations in my triglycerides, bad cholesterol and blood sugar in my lab work...
I did some research, had DH pick me up a bottle of niacin (vitamin 3)...
I have taken them for 4 days now...
and I am having trouble keeping my blood sugar up...
everything in here for me to eat is to keep it down...
I am going to have to start eating candy and such until I can get some higher carbs food...
I don't think I will be needing the non insulin meds...
;o)
wouldn't that be great?
just low on niacin?
amazing how things work, sometimes...

I will keep you posted on how this works out...

the last day...

of January...

and it will be finished...
forever...

had a good day, but didn't do much...
;o)

but it sure went fast...

it is so peaceful in the park...
even when its full of people...

but you never feel isolated...
or alone here...

for me, its like coming home...

it was good to get there this weekend...
with all the hate I seem to be surrounded by...
on the news, online...
between rioters and women dressed as viginas of all things...
(boy, what my mom and grandma would've said about that)

I was told growing up...
that being a woman meant that I could be anything that I wanted to be...
that whatever I chose, would be ok...
(that came from my mom and grandma)
and that it was good to be a woman...
that being a man wasn't what we were born to be...
and that we are different...
(the joke was that we were better)
;o)
I don't want that to change...
we already have women in the armed forces...
and in every other job on earth...
and there are those who love being a stay at home mom...
then there are the professionals...
and all the other jobs...
from retail to construction...
what more can we want?
why don't they march for hunger or homelessness?
child abuse?
did they hit the streets for 9/11?
or any of the mass shootings?
the only good they did was create jobs...
someone had to clean up after them...
for pete's sake...

and those who go in, break windows...
set things on fire...
beat each other and the cops...
why?
and they tear up their own neighborhoods!
where they live and work and play...
where they raise their families...

if we could take all that energy...
all the hate and meanness...
and the nutty things...
and turn it around...
and do something good with it...

can you imagine what kind of a world we would be living in?
if we all cared about each other?
looked out for each other?
helped, fed, clothed each other?
prayed for each other?

I live in a small town...
where these things don't happen...
and I like it like that...
but there is still hate...
and selfishness...
and some meanness...
but not on those levels...

pray hard for us...
for all of us...
and for Trump...
some aren't even giving him a chance...
pray for all the leaders...
to come up with a better plan...
but I think the most important prayer should be for the parents who are raising their kids right now...
and the teachers who are in the classrooms...
give them guidance in what to put in the heads and hearts of these little ones...
so that when they grow up...
they will be wiser and better than those before them...
;o)

what a difference a week makes...

but that's life on the prairie...

last week, we were in sweaters and walking around the state park...

yesterday, we just drove around as the snow fell...

all bundled up and the heater on full blast...
;o)

I didn't get as sick as Craig did...
and he did fine at work yesterday...
so he is totally over it...

made a meatloaf and huge baked potatoes last night for supper...

hoping for a slower paced week...
to finish out this month and start the next one...

the colder weather will slow me down...
;o)
just need to keep the housework caught up and the critter bowls full...
and it will be a good week...
blessings and prayers for all of you...
have a good Monday!

flu...happens...

well, Craig is finally on the mend...
kept everything down yesterday and heading back to work this morning...

I am trying to get it, but hanging on here...

my immune system is fighting it and I don't feel bad at all this morning...

love the windows uptown!

I had a blue and white kitchen with yellow walls years ago and loved it so much...
just got tired of it after awhile and went onto other things...

Steve made the grocery run yesterday without me...
hung out here and got all the laundry done for the weekend and several smaller projects completed...
took all do to do them, but they are done and we have a free day now...

hoping for a ride with him sometime...
going to make a meatloaf and baked potatoes for supper...
other than that...
nappin' and floating around here in cyberville...

have great days out there!
