some vintage love...

happy Friday!

got nothing planned for the weekend...

well, nothing exciting, anyway...

just hopping in here to let you know that this is the last shopping weekend before the big day!

and to share some very vintage valentine images...

50s today!

can you believe that?

while the northeast digs out of a blizzard...

glad its not us...

set a huge frozen chicken down last night...

so the menu this weekend will include that...

I will debone it and thinking chicken tacos...

and BBQ chicken sandwiches...

maybe even pizza with some of that...

guys are working and I should be doing housework...

;o)

don't tell on me!

I should do lunch first...

so I don't get weak in the knees doing all this hard stuff here...

;o)

looking forward to being a little naughty this weekend...

haven't felt real good for a couple of weeks...

so I have a lot to make up for...

faux spring...

this is where we are at this morning...

wind chill...

we ended up with about 3 inches...

that stuck...

but from the looks of the long range forecast...

this might be the end of winter as we know it...

so while its like that out there...

its spring in here...

faux spring, but I'll take it...

do you know how hard it is to find faux florals without glitter on them anymore?

the sun is shining!

it is so bright in here, with sunspots...

but those are all taken!

the beasties have spoken for them...

using my little cherubs for cupids...

and a tea set for roses...

as soon as this Valentine's stuff is over...

I'm breaking out the bunnies and crosses...

I like to single crochet...

for warmth...

while its like this, I will be in here...

need a nap already!

I got up with a sinus headache this morning...

not stopping me from soaking up some sunlight!

things have sure changed in the last 24 hours...

32 here this morning and 1-3 inches of snow coming in...

got up early with Steve...

who is going to work at 5am again...

because someone was supposed to be here early this morning...

waited and waited...

called said person...

"I'm so sorry, I forgot"

his wheel isn't turning because the darn hamster needs CPR!

well, so that's a bust for today...

Craig went on to work...

10-2...

then going to get his passport...

;o)

taking a trip to Canada this summer to meet his friend...

so I got plenty of nap time today...

just did an early lunch of left over goulash, since breakfast was before the sun came up...

and I have hardly anything else scheduled for today...

I did get my Valentine's mailed out...

3 to 3 very special ladies...

2 in nursing homes...

the other is mostly shut in...

I wanted them to get them a little early to display and look at for a few days...

;o)

I tried to find the brightest ones they had...

need to start looking for Easter cards next time out and put them back...

so I am ready for the next holiday...

(I know St Patrick's day is in there, too, but might not get to shop before then.)

I am totally into staying home away from all the germs now...

after watching Craig for 2 days...

I don't want that!

have good days and prayers for the ones that got hit hard yesterday...

tornadoes are a scary thing...

and they take so much when they go...

61 degrees!

its all downhill from here, though...

woke up this morning to 59 and a real live thunderstorm...

with lightning and everything...

iris are green...

trouble comes in 3s...

Mr Peebody, Mr Wiggles and Addie...

not sunshiny at all...

but it was nice to go out in a sweater and walk around a bit...

everything is coating in green ick...

looks like pond scum...

a wet, damp winter with little sunshine does that...

the rose bush by the deck is green...

and there's little buds on it...

got the back door open...

fan on...

blowing in some fresh air...

so nice...

so wanting spring now...

the dogs are insane...

playing tag...

tackling each other...

they are loving this break in winter...

nothing going on around here...

the biggest activity happening here lately...

Mr Peebody and Dexter...

have a few heart things around...

but not much...

just cooking, dusting, doing laundry...

staying home and staying in 99% of the time...

got 3 pot holders made...

with a lacey edge...

need to finish the throw that's in there...

DH got out this weekend...

to feed the birds...

ready to tackle this!

its not been a bad winter so far...

but the germs are everywhere!

mumps, pink eye and all kinds of flu bugs are flying around in the air here...

I feel sorry for the parents trying to keep their kids in school...

so grateful we survived that phase of our lives and its behind us now...

;o)

the guys watched the super bowl...

glad that's over, too...

now we can get back to normal...

maybe...

;o)

nothing major planned for us...

still keeping the blood sugar down...

;o)

hoping this was the answer I have been looking for for a few years now...

sometimes, its just something so simple...

with an easy fix...

can't wait to see the doctor scratch his head on this one...
