sometimes, you just have to walk away...

from things and people who are toxic to you...

DH and I had to make some tough choices this weekend...

and its not that we didn't pick them...

we had to pick us...

its been a hard last few months...

and I am only getting sicker from it...

so, it was his call...

since its his side of the family...

and the abuse stops here...

now we need to heal...

its hard...

but necessary...

for inner peace...

and our lives together here...

pray for all of us...

and with the first day of spring...

we have our new beginning...

a healthier one...

and happier...

48 hours...

not a long wait...

for warmer weather to return...

and then spring can continue on course...

before it was rudely interrupted...

I am still hibernating...

I would protest, but that would entail going outside and getting the street...

so that's not happening...

been doing boring inside stuff...

cold is fading...

fibro and arthritis are fighting it out...

but its better every day...

so its all good here except for the snow on the ground...

;o)

and that's not for long...

have good days...

hibernating until further notice...

DH and I took a drive around town yesterday to find spring...

and that we did...

star magnolia on the square...

plenty of spring things going on...

even the big old willow at the funeral home was swaying green in the breeze...

it was chilly but not frost bite weather...

until...

we got up this morning...

I bet their tail feathers are stiff!

should we mow?

bwahahahahaha....

I seriously think that I am just going to mope today...

poor birdies...

I am sad for them...

come back tomorrow when its all melted and all that...

;)

its green out there!

and red...

long shadows across the yard this morning as the sun came up...

our last nice day for a bit...

they say a high of 64...

but they have eliminated almost all of the snow out of our forecast now...

my brother in law has been released from rehab...

back to the group home he is in now...

he didn't want to go back just yet...

not quite ready and afraid he might fall again...

but his hip is all healed up now...

robins in the yard this morning, too...

a couple of them...

until the neighbor cat chased them away...

;o(

they sure look a little ragged...

but they will fatten up soon enough...

got a cold...

so no heroics for me today...

just puttering around and getting caught up here...

doing DH's work clothes that he forgot to take back with him today...

they have a laundry service that's free...

and you know how he is with free things...

;o)

but the last 2 pair of jeans are in the dryer now...

and he doesn't have to worry about them this week...

I called and cancelled the cat scan...

called the insurance co and we would have been billed for 20% up to $1700...

I don't know how much those things cost, but I know its a lot and we have enough to pay on now the way it is...

its not life threatening...

so its good...

I will just be lumpy...

and that I can do!

while you are praying for that white stuff to fall just one more time...

I'm over here trying to get my spring on!

we got some moving in this way over the weekend...

and I had planned several weeks ago for this to be the weekend to remove the leaves and debris from the flower beds...

but that's not going to happen now...

I am going to hibernate and hide in here while that's going on out there...

got another sunny day, but the wind is nasty...

54, so in the sun it feels warm if you are out of the breeze...

but if you aren't, that stuff has a bite to it...

made a pot of vegetable soup for supper...

its hanging out on the stove...

still have left over chili, too...

so the next few nights are going to be easy for this old woman...

;o)

not much going on...

DH and his friend brought home a 5 drawer file cabinet their work place was tossing in the dumpster...

not nice enough for inside...

but I am going to use it on the deck to store things in...

rain proof and the drawers are nice and big...

it even locks!

garden tools, bird seed, seasonal décor, ice melt...

its going to be so handy and will go along with the metal lockers out there...

great new storage and critter proof, too...

been planning a rework of some of the flower beds...

got some great ideas...

hoping we can get it all done this year...
