here comes the heat...

gearing up for some in days...

but wanted to post on the morning glories...

I need these in other areas of the yard...

so will do what I did to get them  here...

just pull them out of the field in the fall and throw them here and there...

heat indexes are going to be triple digits...

there is plenty to do inside...

going to be packing Craig up tonight and getting to bed early...

they have to leave by 3am...

pray for his safe journey!

after 2 long days of work...

it was a good weekend...

we got to work on the side yard where the flooding had set us back...

got the little red wagon last week on an online rummage site...

painted this all black and got the extra pots scrubbed up...

this is where the huge azalea was...

DH dug the dead plant up and we are thinking a hydrangea in here when we find one...

we are pretty sure that's all we lost over here!

some things are delayed and just not bloom this year...

the rose of Sharon only has a few blooms on it this year, but it made it!

5 weeks + of standing water, so we are lucky to have anything left here...

grateful we are not having to start completely over!

there is still much to do...

and so many weeds!

tons of broadleaf!

but we picked one section and pretty much, stuck to it...

we got the holes filled and flattened as much as I could do with the riding lawn mower...

a ton of weeds and debris cleaned from the flower beds...

and sewed grass seed...

I bought this chair, too...

it was orange and painted it black...

got some really hot and humid days coming up this week...

watering will be t he priority...

and staying in as much as possible...

got some touch up painting done, too...

there is always more to do...

we are both sore, but still kicking...

we didn't even get to the old garden area...

but there are tiny green beans on the potted plants...

and the tomatoes are growing...

a hard rain knocked off all the blooms they had on them...

gearing up for Craig's vacation to Canada...

Steve has to take him to Indy Wednesday morning early...

they leave here at 3am...

DH took Wed- Fri off...

I am sure we will be inside most of it...

:)

we can get caught up on the inside stuff and our naps!

a few more cars...

got another hot and humid day here...

but the weekend looks better...

will be getting the paint bucket opened...

touching up the deck and getting the railings done...

and the back steps...

shouldn't take too long...

maybe even working on the side yard that needs so much help...

med chopper landing...

Saturday, during the car show...

this showed up...

flew right over our heads...

I knew where it was going to land and when it was coming...

since I take the photos for them to use at the car show and other things...

and it was pretty awesome watching it land and all that...

just like M*A*S*H...

they had a girl co-pilot!

yeah for girls!

DH took my camera and headed for the chopper to get some close up shots...

I set the camera for him and told him not to touch and thing and it would work!

and he did good!

I now have a back up to Craig!

isn't all of this cool?

amazing how they can fit all that equipment is such a tiny space...

it drew quite a few over to take a look inside...

Eli was even there!

and...

he wanted his picture taken!

he has this cheesy grin thing down!

he is growing so fast!

taking a day to rest...

done 6 days in a row!

time for me now...

and naps...

there are naps!

a really great weekend...

Friday night started off with these firemen cooking supper for everyone...

hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans and chips...

we missed dessert!

the stashed the leftovers in the corner so we could get to the bingo part of the night...

my losing bingo card!

but old Craiger won a $14 pot as soon as DH and I left...

(we went to the street dance)

then Saturday morning...

DH and I headed for the square!

for me, its all about the chrome and white walls...

there were venders and a bike swap, too...

didn't win a thing!

but we had fun!

that crazy chicken pooped on someone else's number...

I took over 300 photos...

it was amazing!

wish you could of all been here!

we even got to see the med chopper fly right over us and land in front of us!

we were on our way out of there to come home a bit...

rest up, eat lunch and then go back up...

but we got stopped...

"chopper coming! need photos!"

Mike is in charge of the whole thing...

Roy is in charge of the car show!

Ann, a fellow blogger, knows the owner of this one!

chrome, chrome, chrome...

another fireman making sure things are going right...

and the chopper...

we have a funeral to do today...

my friend's mother passed away on Thursday...

both my guys are going to be pall bearers...

she was 95 and pretty much outlived everyone...

so the visitation is right before the funeral...

Craig has to work this morning, come home for the funeral and then go back when its over...

the funeral is a couple of towns south...

so keep us all in your prayers today...

on the roads and helping the family through this difficult day...
