Oh, my stars! I have become one of them...

you know- one of those once a week bloggers...

I am so sorry I haven't been on here...

so much going on...

and yet I feel like I am so far behind...

but wanted to show you this new purchase...

an old wooden box with teal paint on 3 sides...

makes a great coffee table and foot stool for us in the evenings...

the aftermath of the weekend...

kids were up for a couple days and one night...

camper is all packed up and put out back for the rest of the year...

need to get the grill put up, too...

butterflies and bees are covering the sedum now a days...

had a couple of our neighbors down Sunday evening when the kids were here around the fire...

looks like a nice quiet street, and it mostly is...

but things are not well here...

we have one neighbor who has decided to create chaos for the rest of us...

but they are ones who lose...

the rest of us get along fine...

they are the ones without us in their lives...

and we are some darn good neighbors here...

I had a great day yesterday, but flaring today...

going very slow...

fall is happening and the pumpkin patches are open...

a bit too early to start putting that stuff out...

I think it is, anyway...

I go for the first of October, so we don't get so sick of it before we can put it up again...

a full month is enough for me...

and then you know what happens after that!

yeah, this year is just going way too fast!

what a bad time for all them!

I been watching how ordinary folks just stepped it up and did what had to be done for others!

we can sure unite when our back is against the wall!

had Craig home today...

still didn't get much done...

tail was a draggin'...

there are several patches of this between us and the lots across from our driveway...

I love it and it was so cheap!

it is finished for this year...

I will put a coat or two more on in the spring...

just as soon as its warmed up...

I did all the painting...

the first coat was on my butt with a brush...

the second with a roller...

and some rearranging and all that fun stuff...

and its awesome!

the guys even like it...

and of course, there's the photo bomber...

the cats have taught him well...

worked outside this weekend, but nothing major compared to the deck and went very slow...

so today is inside fix what they messed up over the weekend day...

laundry going, a sink full of dishes and it looks like Harvey spent the weekend in the living room...

but...

then there's the deck...

I might take all my breaks there...

I told DH if the house work isn't done this week...

he would know why...

I am so tired already, I know there's a nap in there somewhere...

have good days and I could use some special prayers for a friend of mine...

just not working out the way this person would like it to...

but you know there's a bigger plan going on here...

and another door to open...

fighting letting go of the door that closed...

as August ticks away...

 who else is soaking up the last days of summer?

while fall slowly creeps in...

letting it all go to seed now...

we had 49 degrees here this morning...

I got my shower and dug out a pair of jeans...

we are in the 70s now...

had on my granny nightgown last night...

the warm one with long sleeves...

and I was still cold this morning sitting here drinking my get up and go juice...

love these kind of days!

I think I have a roller or paint brush in my hands most of the time these days...

this is "the after" shot...

I painted the potting bench and lightly brushed the fencing...

I had painted these back in the spring and then just took a dry roller over the top of them..

I toned them down a couple of notches...

I had nothing to do with this morning glory winding its way up the frame and curling around it...

but I love it...

its awesome in the mornings when its blooming...

putting back the odds and ends...

I pulled about half of the plants in here, too...

looks much better...

this years start of Lamb's Ear...

its the softest thing ever...

and it spreads very well...

still waiting on the deck floor paint, but it says it will be in on Wednesday now...

got rain coming tomorrow, so planning on doing that over the weekend...

its been so dry here, we have missed all the rain the last few weeks...

so hoping for some on Tuesday...

we are mowing every other week now...

this is going to be a fun place to be for years to come...

even as I get to where I have more trouble getting around...

I LOVE the checker board design and wish we could do it everywhere, but it will take time getting enough blocks...

everything is picked over this year and they don't re-order until the spring...

all of this just because the other side of the house flooded so bad in the spring...

everything has a silver lining to it...

and its really working out for us...

and DH really likes it...

(sometimes he doesn't like my ideas as much as I do)

so that's a big plus around here...

we were cloud covered today with thunderstorms south...

not much of an eclipse here, either...

it got dim, but more like just cloud cover but with a funky hue to it...

the birds did quit singing and the cicadas started sounding off...

that's the only change we had...

the dusk to dawn lights didn't even come on...

Craig's off the next 2 days...

so we will be inside much of tomorrow, depending if we get rain or not and when it comes in...

we have things to do around here inside and out...

but the list is getting shorter all the time...

might even get the fall house cleaning started...
