Have probelms with flies coming in the house?

Just got an email and it says to hang a zip lock bag half filled with water and 4-7 pennies in it above doors and windows to keep flies away. It says they won't come in, either because of the reflection or it resembles an insect they are afraid of.
And my favorite part is that it is non toxic! No sick kids, pets or adults!
