Best shots of the evening...

we had a high of 71 today...

but those winds didn't die down until very late in the evening...

should have a good day tomorrow, too...

then 4 days of rain...

hopefully...

we so need it...

sweet dreams...

Photo shoot tips...

this is a perfect example of natural diffusion...

thin clouds that filter the sunlight like sheer curtains in your home diffuse the light...

it makes it an overall lighting without the rays pinpointing any one thing...

the first thing you always check is your lighting...

then you will know what kind of shots you will be looking for...

this is just a general shot of this area...

nothing really special and you have seen this many times before if you visit here often...

boring, right?

but when you break it down in sections...

each section given it's own special place...

it becomes unique...

also notice it's not centered, but it is balanced...

the "weight" of the brick balances with the stalks on the left...

because any one photo is just a group of little things...

they stand well on their own...

and do great together...

find the little things that you have put together because they have their own character...

their own life...

show everyone else what YOU see when you look at something...

take the guess work out of it...

so they don't have to blow it up and look at everything themselves...

when you focus on something...

you are putting it in the spot light...

and something others might  miss...

now, take this watering can...

alone it has many different features...

and a photo of it alone is wonderful...

but if you break it down...

you see what I see...

ribs...

dried grasses...

a spout...

the handle...

along with all the shadows that get lost in the bigger picture...

and notice the backgrounds, too...

the rugged pickets and the shadows they cast...

and sometimes you just get plain lucky...

trying to catch that tongue is not easy...

it's just the fastest tongue in east central Illinois...

you can be licked before you know it...

I was just trying to get a regular shot and he did this...

just at the right time...

you can't plan that...

it just happens every now and then...

and here are my earmuffs!

well, one pair of them...

it is so windy here again today...

and notice who is sitting behind me...

my shadow...

and my son gave me his old sun glasses...

can't find mine...

and I didn't think I would like them...

but they wrap around and keep all the dust and dirt out of my eyes!

and we are using the old wheel chair as rolling seating...

I walk to where I want to go and then sit down...

it is really comfortable to sit in...

so, I hope this helps you when you are out taking photos...

White Wednesday...

hello!

after our long, long, long...

did I mention LONG...

winter...

the only whites I want to see outside right now are clouds...

with a bright blue sky behind them...

but on this post...

I'm going to be throwing some color your way, too...

because it's spring...

my first tulip...

and the clouds are just wonderful today...

and so is every tiny little leaf and bloom...

and it just makes you smile...

and all the white and blue and green are so welcome here...

and I have a few buddies who are still buried under white...

I hope all their snow melts this week so they can have spring, too...

but until then, I will share mine...

 with April...

the showers will begin later this week...

so these can get bigger...

and so the lavender will smell sweet again...

I have a thing for clouds...

my dad used to take me flying through them...

are you ready for roses?

oh, some of the blogs have them already...

I can't wait for them to bloom...

some people love flying on clear days when you can see everything for miles...

not me...

I like to fly above the clouds...

and then down through them...

and then back up again...

I can tell you one thing...

I did not have enough clothes on...

the breeze is stiff and cold...

I did have my ear muffs on...

maybe I should wear them on the outside of my hoody...

we were supposed to be in the high 50s...

but it hasn't gotten out of the 40s yet...

but, it's still better than 20 with snow and ice...

so...

and look who decided to make an appearance today...

Mr Sun has popped his head out of the clouds to bring a pretty day...

I took a very short walk a little bit ago...

I knew the lilies were up here and the iris...

but this is what I was looking for this morning...

the first peony of the season...

this bed is 2 years old now...

and I like it...

and a little bunch of daffodils that were moved here last summer...

it's getting greener all the time...

and the daffodils are bobbing all ove the place in the wind...

yep, still got that...

a few things that will get worked on soon...

and put out when they get some clothes on...

I have a shirt for the guy but need one for the girlie...

may have to wait for a good rummage sale...

I want to have new heads cut this year and replace these...

need to use just plain boards and not particle board so they don't split...

I am thinking of going with brown noses, too...

well, that's it for now...

not sure what I am going to get done today...

you'll just have to check back later to see...
