Love is...

when the storms of life toss you about...
it's you and him...
holding on...
onto each other until the storm passes...
we have weathered many storms...
join Marydon for more Love is...
we took a short drive this afternoon to watch the storm come in...
there's the wall cloud of the second batch that came through...
not very long and not very high...
but big enough to get the job done and lower the temperatures...
see...
it's not totally flat here...
we do have some rolls...
clouds above the corn...
have a great night and fun Monday morning...

all of a sudden, it got dark...

this was at 11 am this morning...
DH was on the computer and I was watching DIY...
and it got dark instantly...
and we stepped outside and found this...
more leaves down and notice the brown grass and bare spots...
because the wind was blowing!
finally!
and it was so cool out there...
went from 93 to 79 in the blink of an eye...
and more leaves came down and were blowing through the air...
Craig has a job this week...
but the plants, most of them, have done well...
and the dark was good...
but some of us slept through the whole thing...
bathed, fed and nappin' the day away...

We got enough rain to wet the sidewalk and that's it, but the cooler temps are what we needed most.
We are still dry here and while DH is making a run for KMR(Kitten Replacement Formula), Craig and I sat out on the loungers and I dead headed the pots while he complained about how cold it is now.  He needed a blanket and wanted to come back inside.  I told him,
"OH, WAH!  GET OVER IT!"
We got the windows open and the birds are happy.  They are singing up a storm- pun intended.
Hope the cool comes your way!
I need to get a shower before DH gets back, so more later...
and I do have my Love Is...post ready!

It's so hot that...

The birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the ground.

The potatoes cook underground, and all you have to do to have lunch is to pull one out and add butter, salt, and pepper.

Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

The cows are giving evaporated milk.

The trees are whistling for the dogs.

hope you are having a fun weekend even with all the heat...
and those who are getting all the rain...
we are doing good...
not working hard at nothin'...
taking naps...
and feeding babies...

getting my groove back...

have you ever had one of those days that just knocks you on your behind?
I have had a week of that...
and while I was out here shooting this yesterday...
it was a time of prayer and reflection...
and protection...
see how the sun shines just where it is needed most?
this week my bestest friends pushed me to the sun spot...
and they were happy to be in the shade even though their lives are full of problems, too...
because even though we are all pretty darn good on our own...
special...
cherrished...
and just plain cuter than a bug with chicken pox...
we are better together...
because we tend to each other...
and support each other...
and together we just make a better garden to be in...
my problems are not gone by any means...
but there is light at the end of the tunnel...
and hope for tomorrow...
while I have joy today...
for my friends...
my salvation...
and for His promise...
for prayers...
that reach the throne...
and answered...
sending  you sunshine on your rainy day...
big hugs- Tete

It's a HOT Pink Saturday!

and to beat the heat...
we have been watering way after dark...
and walking after dark...
and I have been doing a little photo shooting after dark...
trying to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day...
and just waiting for this weather to change and pass from us...
stay safe...
and Happy Pink Saturday...
