Why are you crying?

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him.
"I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said, "When I made the woman she had to be special.

I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world,

yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

see, that explains us all perfectly...
that's why we are like we are...
not that hard to understand...
now is it?

hope you like the share...
it touched me...

just piddle fartin' around...

that's what my mom called it...
but I got some new toys this weekend...
a girl my son went to school with grew up, got married, has 2 beautiful kids...
and she has the most amazing garage sales...
and she's one of my friends on facebook...
so, Sunday morning, she threw some pics up and titled it Garage Sale...
had each photo priced...
and of course, I picked out some things...
like this olive green basket with a barn red star on it...
2 metal black stars...
I know most of you are going white, but I tell you...
black punches like nothing else and it's basic neutral...
I know, I wasn't into black either...
but I used to watch Trading Spaces...
remember that?
LOL
anyway, my favorite designer was Edward Walker...
and he added a little black to every design...
didn't matter on the room...
and it made it look so much better...
gave the room depth and a sophistication...

and this big, I mean big...
metal shallow bowl...
with a star...
big enough to hold a lot of stuff...
and this 4 foot fall table runner...
quilted with oak and maple leaves...
little acorns...
fall without knocking your eyes out...
you know how some things fall are just on the verge of blinding you?
not this...
love it...
so this is where the piddle fartin' around comes in...
just a little sofa table in front of the kitchen windows...
this basket was on the kitchen table...
and these books were on the coffee table in the living room...
this used to sit on the mantel...
this was on the kitchen table, too...
add one of the new stars...
and poof!
it's done...
well. got some more piddle fartin' around to do...
and the other stuff, like laundry and washing dishes...
cleaning  up the living room after the cats and dogs drug out all their toys...
then a walk...
60 now- up to 69 today for a high...
got windows open...
do you?
probably ought to pick tomatoes again...
yeah, I know...
 I've got it so hard...
have a beautiful day...
God Bless...

fall on the prairie...

DH and I took a little drive yesterday afternoon...
just a little northwest of here...
where the crops are all in and some of the fields were tilled...
the river needs some rain...
still down...
but the clouds had come in and the sun was hidden in the afternoon...
windy but very warm out...
this morning, the rain has set in...
and it will be here through Tuesday...
a good time to regroup and think about days ahead...

hope your weekend was peaceful, reflective and packed with all the good things of fall and family...

a woman's role...

think about the single most person who made the biggest impact on your life and you will probably figure out that it was a woman...
your mother...
grandmother...
aunt...
sister...
friend...

then think about who is watching you...
look at your children...
your grandchildren...
what "mark" are you leaving on them?
their friends?
co-workers, friends you hang with?

are you showing them the way?
the truth?
and the light?

are you showing them faith in the Father no matter what this life brings your way?
you know, it really doesn't matter what you SAY...
if you don't back up those words with ACTION...

it's all fine and dandy when things are going our way and we are getting what we want...
but how do you handle the times when we aren't?
do you throw up your hands and ask why?
do you sit and cry?
do you question HIS judgement?

do you not realize that you have the POWER to shape the morals and hearts of the nation yet to be?
with every selfless act you commit...
you are forging hearts of love and compassion...
you are lifting God's name on high and letting the world know where you stand...
that by living what you preach...
you are freeing your heart and soul to love and soar above all that is set in place to hinder you?
to hinder generations?

to carve away years of bitterness in the heart of a non-believer?
to show them that there is something better...
that their lives are worthy to be saved...
and they are worth being loved...

show them faith...
through prayer...
kindness...
generosity...
and you will change the world as we know it now...

we have the power through Christ to shine a light in this world that cannot be dimmed...
to bring love and peace and faith...
to hold onto each other...
to know what truly matters...
whatever it is that is eating away at you right now...
know this...
GOD LOVES YOU WITH ALL HIS HEART...
and He's got it covered...
fear not...
for He gave us the most powerful weapon against anything on earth or in Heaven...
and all we have to do is say the name...
JESUS...

for when you find that your path is no longer well lit...
it's time to stop and say that name...
so you can see your footsteps again...
yours...
and His...
right beside you...

for a friend, whom I love very much...
journey well...
