my family photos...

been working on photos for my cousins...
my dad's parents...

great grandma and grandma...

my dad...

my great grandparents' 50th anniversary...
we had a family reunion every 10th year on their anniversary until 1980...

my dad, his brothers and cousins...
and his horse...

that's me fishing with my grandpa and his mother...

my dad, uncle and their twin cousins...

my dad's twin brothers and uncle Don's first born...

my brother, me and our cousins...
christmas was always fun with them...

my 4th birthday...

my dad's family...

dad and the twins with their grandpa...

dad and uncle Don...
they were exactly one year apart...
uncle Don was born in 1934...
and dad came along in 1935 on his 1st birthday...
uncle Don used to joke that he got ripped off...
LOL

there they are again on their farm...

and the boys with their cousin...
that's their grandparents' front porch...
they had a rock house...
they sold the farm and house when they got too old to do the chores anymore and moved into a 3 bedroom in town...

I have more photos to do over the next few weeks...
takes forever to get them scanned and fixed...
but want to get it done...
been putting it off for some time now...

Tori did well with her chemo last night...
and they were going to release her at 4 pm if her blood count was up enough...
I haven't heard anything either way, so hopefully they are busy driving home...
and not able to post anything else...
not sure what lies ahead for them, but God has it covered...
keep the prayers coming!

Tori update...

T-shirts made to sell to raise money for her and her family...
so many are doing fund raisers for them right now...

Mikatlyn feeding Tori...
she had to do a second round of chemo- 2 days in a row...
they started it at 5pm...
first round didn't make her too sick...
but this one might...

Tori on her birthday (Saturday)...
pretty sure she is in the Shriners' hospital, but will have to check on that...
my dad is a Shriner, and I know they have very good children's hospitals...

seen an update from her mom...
the cancer masses were in both lungs...
the bone cancer is in stage 3...
that's what the doctor's are telling them until they get back more biopsies...
still testing on her...
but if she does ok with this chemo tonight...
she will probably get to go home for awhile on Thursday...
not sure when the next chemo will start, but I think my neighbor said in about 2 weeks...
he wasn't real sure on that...
so much going on right now...

so, keep the prayers coming...
I let them know you are all praying for her...
they feel so blessed...
and thanks, Diana, for always being there to pray and help post these important things...

Tori update...

the weekend has been good for her...
she turned 13 on the 1st...
and they pulled the chest tube last night...
healing well...
and they did the first chemo treatment today...
she has to do 10 weeks of that...
so far, they haven't found cancer anywhere but the lung and leg...
she is hoping to go home on Thursday if her blood counts stay up...
keep the prayers coming...
I know they work...

Labor Day weekend...

we went over to the game after half time on Friday night to see how they were doing...
parked along side just off of the road...

we have spent many evenings here watching our kids...

now, there isn't very many that we know...
its been 10 years since Craig played...

then we went to town Saturday and Sunday...

this is the new bridge they are putting in on Rt16...
its going to be a lot higher than the old one...

its supposed to take 2 years to finish...

can't wait for it to be done...

then this morning...
after breakfast...
I went out and looked around...
then we went for a walk...
rosebud inpatients are wonderful...

and the knock out rose is just full of new blooms...

we got a whole whoppin' 1.8 inches of rain this weekend...

but it helped bring things back to life here...

and its been so humid and sticky out...

and this smells so good...

we did pick up 3 new mums at Walmart...

2 burnt orange and a dark purple...

97 cents each for the small ones...

aren't they pretty?
I used to have a very large yellow one out front...
was there for years and then it just finally died out...
I like the deeper, richer tones in the mums...

did do some clothes shopping...
I was so unsure about what size to get, so we experimented a bit...
some things I can so xl and then there are just some I want a bit big, so went to xxl...
got pants, shirts, nighties, sweaters, undies and bras in the 2 trips...
glad I went...
found some great deals on the clearance racks, too...

haven''t heard anything on Tori for a couple days now...
with the holiday weekend and her major surgery on Friday...
I'ld bet they are letting her recover from that a bit before they hit her with more on Tuesday...
thank you for all your prayers and words of kindness...
its going to be a long and bumpy road for them for awhile...
but God will keep them safe in his arms while this all happens...
bless your hearts for all you do!

prayers are urgently needed...

this is Tori...
before the madness started happening...

Tori and her sister in her hospital bed...

in the last few days...
Tori has gone from a swollen ankle and then pain so bad she couldn't stand it...
to being rushed to the ER for xrays to see if it was broken...
to being rushed to a major hospital in Louisville for more tests...
they found a rare form of bone cancer in the ankle...
cancer cells have spread up in to muscle tissue in the leg...
and they had found one grape sized mass in her lung...
she was supposed to start chemo yesterday...
but at the bigger hospital...
they found a total of 4 masses in the lung...
so they ran her into surgery to remove them...
through several incisions, they removed the masses...
and they think they got it all there...
she needs to start chemo, but not sure when...
and they need to find out how far the cancer cells are in the leg before they operate there...
not sure if it will be an amputation or what...

she is our neighbor's granddaughter...
her momma used to live here...
even baby sat our kids some...
Marcie has gone through much in her life...
some of it in the wrong direction...
but she found God and a church and raised her kids there...
this is a real test of faith for them all...
Tori's sister has to go in every now and then to get blood...
this past year, and they haven't figured out why...
she becomes anemic enough to require blood...
so they have been dealing with that...
and her not being able to attend school and being home schooled now...

trials...
life is full of them...
but it hurts the most when they hit us through our children...
please keep them all in your prayers...
more tests are being done...
but the doctors there seem to right on top of it...
time matters in cancer...
and they aren't wasting a minute looking for it...
pray they find it all and stop it in time...
Tori's 13 and full of spunk...
she did great through the surgery and her spirits are high...
but you know how sick chemo can make you...
its hard telling what all this child is going to have to go through on this journey...
just please pray and keep praying...
I will update you as I get news...
