Christmas Is A Child...

is a program I helped create a few years ago here in town...
a program that finds little arms for new toys at Christmas...
our goal: that no child wakes to nothing under the tree on Christmas morning...
this year, my son took over role as lead elf...
distribution is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of December, with the deadline for donations on the 29th of this month...
donations are slow coming this year...
money is short...
it is christian based and done by faith...
we always have what we need, when we need it...
because a child does not need reality every minute of the day...
they still need to dream and wish and believe in something beyond their scope...
if you have a local program that gives a hand up during the holidays...
and you are able...
pitch in...
you never know what wish you may be granting...
what dream, fulfilled...
what cherished memory, made...
remember those children who have no food, warm clothing, toys from Santa...
God can always use earthbond angels to answer prayers...

Happy Thanksgiving!

may God bless and keep you and yours safe this holiday...
and may you find everything you need in the ones around your table...
thankfulness is catchy...
so spread it around...
I am thankful for many things...
and that includes you...

saw the cardiologist today and the initial check went great...
had to do an echo cardio thingy...
waiting on those results...
if that's good- I get that stinky old gall bladder out!

we didn't get anything done today...
so will be cooking all day tomorrow...
probably won't have time to get on here too much...
so have a great day and enjoy it...

a sunny Sunday...

still have roses blooming...

despite the frosts in the mornings...

might even put some on the table for Thanksgiving...

sedum has the "fall" look to it and soon the snow will fly and cover it over...

Snuggles is out and about...
climbing trees, chasing leaves and bugs...

our plans for this next week are still in limbo...
should know more tomorrow after the phone call...
just ready to get this all done and over...

got some really good news about Zigs and Lazarus last night...
they have been at PetSmart in Mattoon for awhile...
and they have been adopted, by the same couple, so they will be together forever...
the only thing is is that these people are moving...
and I am going to kitty sit for anywhere from 2-4 weeks while they get moved...
and then they get their furever home for real...
they are signing the adoption papers tomorrow and paying all the fees...
so, just need to find out what they are going to name them and start using their new names so when they get to go home, they will know who they are...
if all goes well, they will be back here sometime tomorrow...
I had photos of the new babies last night, but they didn't come out...
little buggers moved too fast...
so I will try again today...

stay tuned for cuteness...

I need prayer...

I know you all can do this...
doctor called...
have to go in...
EKG not right...
they want it checked by a cardio dr before surgery...
called Steve and he's on his way home and then we will leave...
got my bag packed...
don't think I will be home tonight...
keep us all in your prayers...
gall bladder attack happening on top of it...
which, is what is causing it I'm sure...
too much pressure and crowding in the chest cavity...
keep praying...
Craig will keep you posted...

OMGosh! Its brrrrrr out there!

well, if you have been listening in this past weekend...
you know we were in the 70s the last couple days...
welp...
not anymore...
ok, so it doesn't really look like this...
but it FEELS like this...

ok, ok...
so it really looks like this out there...

and this...

but its 3 pm and we still have ice on the steps...

but the roses are still blooming...

and budding...
this is one tough cookie, let me tell you...

and I have one die hard snap dragon keeping up...

so maybe the 30 degree drop in temperature has something to do with this...
I stuck ONE little Christmas thing out this weekend...

or maybe its because I got this for Craig at Walmart on Saturday...
his new official cookie dunkin' cup...

whatever happened, it feels like frozen tundra in my neck of the woods...
but we did get the outside work done for the winter...
so that's cool...
the guys can put up the lights and stuff while I watch from inside...
but that will be later on...
DH seems to wait for a blizzard to do it in...

we did have a chance of snow mixed in with the rain last night...
so I pulled the curtains closed and refused to watch...

if you're scoopin' snow...
I'm sorry...
if you're sun bathin'...
I don't want to know...

Have a good one!
Craig's getting ready to head to Champaign for an Illini basket ball game with one of MY friends...
and DH is in PT right now and should be home before long...
a nice quiet night...
I think...
so I might be back in here to poke fun at you...
