some of our feathered friends will demonstrate how to walk on ice...

the cardinals came to dine this afternoon...

some are friendly and some are stuck up...

just like people...

we have some that get along with every body...

and some that don't...

poor little guys...

but these girls have a thing for guys in red...

just enough ice to make it slick...

but no limbs or lines down here...

we even talked Craig into calling in today...

his boss just said, don't risk it...

the snow and sleet were coming down...

and she isn't so sure what just hit her in the head...

we had some wind for most of the day...

but DH tells me that its supposed to warm up through the night and melt this stuff...

I sure hope so...

she's so pretty...

the biggest of the bunch...

and ice day slop...

fried potatoes with onions...

drain really well...

1 can of chili beans...

1 can of corn...

1 can of tomatoes...

a pack of chunked hot dogs...

mix it all up like goop...

throw some cheese on top and holler y'all come...

now this changes based on what I have on hand at the time...

there are no strict rules with it at all...

its just an open and dump kind of thing...

and I usually chop up a few apples to throw into the potatoes and onions...

but I didn't have any fresh fruit except for bananas and well...

that just didn't sound good to me...

now for the promise of spring being on its way...

I saw on the long range forecast for Thursday...

as having a 55 for a high...

now I cannot guarantee those boys who wrote it are not in one of those states that have legalized pot or not...

but it sounds good to me...

so, there you have it...

wonderful birds...

ice and snow...

a recipe...

and a weather forecast...

where else can you get all of that in one place?

got another storm coming in the morning...

in 3 weeks the clocks spring forward...

that's a promising fact...

we are a comical bunch here...

each one not doing so hot taking care of the others...

each task requires one question...

got some things done today in spite of everyone not being 100%...

babies were moved into the living room...

on the floor...

they can almost climb out of the side door...

so that one is closed now and the top is open so mama can still come and go as she pleases...

with my guy breaking his elbow and the weather being terrible and the roads even worse...

this was my valentine from him this year...

it is still a "card"...

and I love these kind the best...

he said he wished he was a crafty as me...

;)

our community building got all new front windows...

one was blown out in one of our storms, and a few others were looking bad...

so the city put new ones in...

still a slippery mess around the square...

and pretty much all the streets are like this in town...

so we weren't out and about for long...

but we did drive through the park...

my kids loved this...

a long time ago...

our water tower is getting painted...

its on the city's agenda...

and I have been working on some images...

here are a couple of them...

its about time to make supper, so better get a move on...

I have been taking care of DH and Craig is a snotting mess...

I even shaved the old boy this morning...

helped him get back into his brace and got him dressed...

DH has tomorrow off, which is a good thing...

ice coming in the morning...

from 6am-6pm...

not going to like that a bit...

but then it should be warm and melting all week!

another 6 inches and play time...

can you believe it?

another snow storm...

one of these days, this will all be gone...

so I spent my day inside with these guys...

they are trying to move around more now and play some...

not real good at it yet...

but they are talking to me and looking for me...

and lovin' on mama...

while mama wants to play with my camera cord...

then its back to business...

had a long day yesterday...

DH cannot sleep at night and tosses so...

I spend the nights here at the kitchen table playing stupid games to pass the time...

I am sleeping in the day time mostly...

then Craig was so sick yesterday morning...

fever, chills and body aches...

took care of him and he did go to work last night...

called the neighbor to plow us out between him leaving and DH getting home...

then it was looking after him a bit, eating a very quick supper and into bed...

some things are getting down this weekend, and some things just aren't...

gotta to get everyone mended up here...
