it was a mostly rainy day...

someone wanted to play peek a boo with me this morning...

and I saw a robin checking her nest...

and the sparrows were telling me thanks for filling the bird feeder...

someone was supposed to do that last night...

and finally, a good shot...

then out of the corner of my eye, I saw red...

a very bright red...

scarlet tanager...

and there were two of them...

I hope they come back...

but this afternoon, the gray skies became blue...

with big white poofs...

Charlie and I went out to wait for DH and to take a walk...

so tried to get some shots...

and then I did this one myself...

der...

but the rest came out ok...

the iris out front are opening...

and the sun felt really good...

just got back from another walk and its 51...

the furnace is on...

we had sloppy joes and home fries for supper...

and it was good...

been awhile since we had done that...

I made it with half ground turkey and half ground beef...

it was awesome...

it was all house hold chores today and a nap...

with this guy...

he can rock a hoody pretty good...

Bebe never got really cold, but Charlie sure does...

he is such a good boy...

now if I could get the other two trained a little better, I would have it made...

;)

hope you felt the blessings today...

cuddling with Charlie was one of mine...

being his mom is going to be so much fun...

I am so glad I listened to my heart and God and checked into him...

I cannot image being without him or him being somewhere else...

we are so going to grow old together...

another rainy day here...

  

good evening...

iris waiting to open...

and the doves came to dine...

I feel like I have always been rushed to get my blog post done in the mornings...

so I have been staying up late, after midnight...

to get them up...

but my evenings are pretty free...

a lot less stress to get it done...

and I have been posting in the evenings the last few days...

and it just feels right...

so, for awhile anyway, this will be an evening blog...

so if you are bored in the evenings, come on by then...

or continue to come in the mornings...

pretty dern chilly out there...

the rain is sure greening everything up again...

and there was no new news on my sil...

but my cousin's dil is doing great...

and has finished her chemo...

and all the tests have come back awesome!

its so wonderful to see God working...

in the lives of others, in my life, in nature...

my yellow knock out rose...

I already have buds on some of the rose bushes...

the iris out front are opening up...

I got up late, really slept in and have felt like I was running behind all day...

stiff from the rain, I guess and just not with it...

not a productive day at all...

oh well...

it will be there tomorrow...

peonies are getting the rain right when they need it this year...

got all these photos on potty breaks today...

because someone needs to use the bathroom outside...

he can smile!

and sit pretty...

Bebe's rain coat fits him fine...

Charlie gets cold, though...

and shivers...

so when we come in, I have to grab a towel and dry his feet and ears...

he's been here a week now...

and we are making progress...

I know he doesn't like the vacuum, the monster under the sink and now the clippers...

LOL

I did get him clipped a little on the back side...

not doing around the face yet...

but he will get used to it and be just fine...

he already can 'sit still' for his face grooming...

he got his 3rd bath today, and he is not happy with getting his face wet...

and Hermie and him like sleeping with me for naps on rainy afternoons...

Charlie has the nap thing down...

he knows we do one in the afternoon and he is ready to go...

I put him up on the bed and tell him nighty night time and he curls up in a ball and goes right to sleep...

my kind of dog!

Prayers are needed for my sister in law...

Susan has been in the hospital three times this month...

CHF- congestive heart failure...

can't keep the fluid out of the lungs...

she's been in this time since Saturday...

they did an angioplasty today...

the doctor was able to get one stint in, but her heart is so diseased...

its not looking good at all...

she will be 63 next week...

they are calling in a specialist to see if he will do the open heart surgery she needs...

but he may decline due to the heart damage there...

she is married to DH's older brother, Raymond...

and they have one daughter, Jackie...

and they live in Virginia...

way to far away for us to be any help...

so I am asking for prayer for all of them as this unfolds...

her kidneys are not in very good shape, either...

diabetes tends to take those out...

so if you could remember them all this week, as you reach out to touch the throne, we would be so grateful...

and Charlie's foster mom called him to check on him...

and thrilled he is doing so well here...

and he finally warmed up to DH this evening...

Monday madness...

my son, Doug and Paula brought me this for mother's day...

the hanging basket and the coconut liner...

I put my petunia in here...

and it looks great...

just wait until that fills in...

and my boy...

right after breakfast and before he got his face washed...

also worked on his grooming, too...

he was very good and I got his whiskers trimmed up...

he keeps getting them in his food...

haven't seen the humming birds yet, but that doesn't mean they haven't been there...

12 total and I got them planted this morning...

I used an old screw driver...

stick it in, swirl it around until you get the hole big enough and drop them in...

a great way to plant in mud...

you can plant your onion sets this way...

its been a cloudy/ sunny day...

first one and then the other...

the glads are up!

and the clematis has gone crazy...

you can see it all the way down the street...

and this guy thought he could walk the dog...

or not let the dog walk...

Lester is always trying to help in some way...

had three iris pop open this afternoon, too...

the fall clematis is weaving its way around the old bike and up past the bird house...

the rose bush lost the top growth through the winter...

but made it...

my neighbor lost 15 rose bushes...

we lost none...

but two lost their growth, but will be alright...

we missed the storms so far...

its 9:30 now, but do have rain the rest of the week coming...

I will check the radar before I head for bed...

Craig gets off at 10 tonight...

I will be home alone tomorrow, so me and Charlie are going to work on a few things...

like napping...

walking with his leash, which he is doing really good...

we are going to try playing...

he tried a bit tonight...

was sitting on the deck and got up to come in...

he usually follows me...

but I had to go back for him...

and he was spunky and prancing...

tail wagging...

he likes it out there and didn't want to come in...

;)

he is doing so well...

with all that's happened to him...

its a wonder he has anything left at all...

but his personality has started to come out...

and he loves to cuddle, still...

one week ago, right now, we still had Bebe...

not knowing it was our last night...

it feels like years ago...

I miss him so, and then I look at Charlie...

we have such a long journey ahead of us...

and its going to be fun...
