got a wonderful day for our Saturday...

started out with a morning trip to Paris...

breakfast out with the old man and dropping off receipts to the insurance for the towing on the truck...

a drive through the park and back home again...

we had borrowed the neighbor's truck to make the trip since ours is in the shop...

and Craig had to work today...

so when Steve took the truck back after dropping me at home...

his daughter asked is we wanted to baby sit this morning for a bit...

well, sure!

baby boy A is 6 weeks old...

she wanted to take her old man golfing here in town for father's day...

and they took the older girls and left A with us...

then when the baby had left...

we started the yard work...

which wasn't much...

took a walk to see what the neighbor was doing with a back hoe in his yard...

major changes there...

tore out a deck and all the bushes around it...

moved some boulders...

just having fun...

and the mower guy went by, so back home again to pay him and chat a bit...

then in for an nap...

until Craig showed up for supper time...

and another walk to see the baby...

;)

and they are golfing again first thing in the morning...

so, guess who gets to rock and hug a baby boy?

Craig works again tomorrow...

so we will watch the baby until mom and dad pick him up...

then they have to head home to northern Indiana...

and we will go out and putter around the yard...

need to clean the bird bath again...

we have dirty birds...

trim back the rose of sharon a bit...

then more in the fall on that...

water the potted plants...

need to get a couple loads of laundry done sometime through out the day...

and another nap, too...

it got up to about 78 today with a wonderful stiff breeze...

but the temp is supposed to rise all week and hit 93 before its over...

so getting out while we can without sweating our butts off...

just another day on the prairie where the corn grows faster than the weeds...

and the bloomers aren't doing too bad, either...

the day started out with some sun peeking through here and there...

but no more rain fell...

and we sure don't need anymore right here...

we do have lake front property again...

and the pink flamingos don't look so out of place anymore...

the autumn clematis is making progress...

and now reaches into the front basket with several vines...

our new bird feeder...

almost empty...

a quiet day...

and a good thing...

a migraine started in early this morning...

but got it nipped in the bud...

outside the living room window...

the green beans and I found 2 small tomatoes tonight on one of the plants...

I think I am so ready for the weekend this week...

to have someone here with me during the days...

Charlie is doing so good!

Craig is now one of his favorite people...

and he won't let Craig even sit down when he gets home...

Charlie is ready to play...

just takes time...

and lots of love...

so much to do here and not in the mood...

I have been like that all week...

oops...

but I did cook an awesome supper tonight...

so they will keep me around a bit longer...

its just been one of those weeks that no matter what I touch, it looks worse than when I started...

about ready to build a bon fire and throw it all on there...

I think its time to box some stuff up and pass it off to the next person who needs something new and fun to play with...

maybe its just too many rainy days in a row...

maybe I just needed some down time...

not even been on the computer...

sometimes you just need a break from stuff...

been listening to Gordon Lightfoot and Fleetwood Mac this week, too...

nice to just have it playing in the background while I attempt to keep house...

threw in some Jim Croce, too...

light, easy listening...

maybe hard rock tomorrow to get me moving faster!

I didn't take any photos today...

had to take a down day...

not moving very well, but holding my own...

a good day to sleep in and not do much of anything...

still have gray skies but not more than a few drops of rain here...

so far...

its cold!

wore my sweatshirt hoodie on the walk after supper...

the truck went down again this morning, so was towed in...

again...

could be Monday before they can look at it...

its going to be fun getting both guys to work the rest of the week...

another rainy day...

but we got to the doctor ok and even got the shopping in before it came down really good...

we had just gotten home and got the groceries in and it just downpoured...

but we didn't get soaked, so that was a blessing...

but Charlie only got to do the deck for most of the day...

Craig took me to lunch after...

Burger King...

there is water standing in towns around us...

and we got 1.8 inches, which is enough...

everything really greened up again...

I did ok out...

and we got the truck back...

might be just wire getting too hot...

fuel pump is ok...

so the bill was cheap and we are to drive it a bit to see if it does it again...

glucose levels are normal and off of the metformin for 49 days now...

he was amazed...

getting an appointment with the dietitian to figure out a way to lower the cholesterol and keep my blood sugar up without gaining weight and maybe even losing again...

lost 3 pounds since my last visit...

I eat way too many eggs, so cutting those out right away...

and going back in 3 months for another blood test to see where I am...

still on no meds...

works for me...

I didn't want them anyway...

I have 3 days in a row now that I will be home alone...

I need some down time...

flaring...

I know, I over did it...

but it was fun!

so, I will have to be very good so I can get back to digging in the dirt when the mud dries up...

Charlie and I do naps well...

and he finally quit growling at Craig...

now he wants him to play with him...

;0)

just takes time...

we're having some perfect days here...

the mornings are wonderful...

not too hot and not too humid...

pretty good breezes and just enough sunshine...

a gift, not sure from who...

but we are loved...

we worked on this yesterday...

cleaning and scrubbing...

because bird pooh happens...

and someone was fishing this morning...

and cat a Charlie...

the day started off with a bang...

the truck went down 8 miles south of here...

and Craig was stuck...

called work for him and his dad...

who ran down, picked him up and took him to work...

got there an hour late...

DH had to head straight there after work to pick him up...

pretty sure its the fuel pump...

so its towed in and the guy is going to give it a look and let us know...

not good timing, but it will be ok...

got my drs appointment in the morning...

and Craig is off, so taking his dad to work and coming back and grabbing me to head for Paris...

today was full of dishes, cooking and laundry...

of course, there was a nap in there and phone calls to make...

placed another mama cat and her babies...

I don't have her yet, but it will just be a hand off...

shouldn't be too hard to handle...

being down to one car is not fun...
