home alone and the play room...

found this at Goodwill on Friday...

love throw pillows...

a tub I was putting things in to give away...

but wait a minute...

found my song book of songs for Mothers...

and framed it...

and I had to get a clock Friday for the room...

so this all went together...

the card DH gave me for our 30th anniversary last month...

framed it, too...

now, we also picked up Patches and brought her back home...

she has a long journey ahead of her...

because she found her new mommie...

Debbie at Lakehouse saw her here...

and fell in love...

we are working out transport arrangements for her to travel from me(central Illinois) to her(Michigan)...

I also brought four more home on Friday...

for only about 10 days...

the lady who was taking care of them went on vacation...

when she gets back, I am done for the year...

and you find the darnedest things when you are sorting and purging...

my grandma took this polaride of me when I was 16...

it was in her basement...

can you guess what I'm resting my head on?

country roads on a rainy fall day...

the colors are finally starting to come...

we are still over 50% green...

and the trees are taking turns dropping their leaves...

this may be out longest fall, ever...

but I did take a break from the chaos here...

and DH got off early...

so we took off while there was still some daylight left...

they say the rain is over, but its still a very dark day again...

it was 46 yesterday when we were riding around...

a bit chilly with the dampness...

sweatshirts and jeans...

sneakers with socks...

I am even wearing gloves out now...

my fingers and hands just ache when they get cold anymore...

so much going on in this world...

so much bad...

its nice to have a peaceful place to live...

grateful that we live here...

in a small town...

where the only gunshots you hear are from the driving range...

and the biggest thing in the paper this week was a dispute over a lawn mower...

wish I had the details of that one...

but I suppose I will sooner or later...

news gets around fast here...

taking a down day today...

DH and Craig both have tomorrow off...

so we are going to Paris...

and hitting quite a few places...

and doing lunch out...

have a good day...

not a lot of progress today...

started out feeling really good this morning...

so started painting some shelves white...

this is the color I want to paint the kitchen cabinets...

and then it went downhill...

lost my energy for most of the day...

but here is a glimpse of what I did this evening...

and some of things I decided to keep...

those baby shoes were mine and my sister's...

these things all mean something to me...

a time...

a place...

a person...

I am going to like playing in here when it is finishes...

I even moved my computer in here...

and I am hoping that it will limit my time on here...

that when I am in the other rooms, it will not invade the here and now of each moment...

we stick our noses in things so much, we miss the real world...

and those in it...

I am home alone the next couple of days...

and I will be resting up...

happy fall...

praying the worst is over...

we have been doing the front 2 bedrooms...

switching rooms and painting both as we go...

so much has been done...

so much purged...

so much left to do...

sorting and cleaning...

finding old things...

my room is a pale lavender...

we be working on this the rest of the month, I am sure...

can't wait for the garbage guy to come in the morning...

everything is full...

home alone today...

recovering from the last 3 days...

still working on my layout...

I do know one thing...

I am not as young as I used to be...

8 weeks old and ready to go...

they leave tomorrow...

these four had a mama that was a Maine Coon...

3 of them are long haired and all 4 have green eyes...

they are going to the next foster home on their way to be adopted...

got their photos posted this evening on facebook...

cross your paws for quick adoptions...

then we got these 2 in today...

they are 10 weeks old...

Myra...

and Lightening...

he must be fast...

simply beautiful babies...

should be easy to adopt out...

got a message last night and we said good bye to Bobo this afternoon...

2 people want him...

the first lady is meeting him tomorrow...

and you know she won't be able to resist him...

but if she does, he is being transported north to someone who wants him there...

we are going to take a break from fostering for a bit...

get the rooms finished...

and everything back to normal...

we might even wait until after Christmas...

got the toy drive coming up and we have to do the fund raising before...

had a good day and even got a run into town to do the grocery shopping and snag a gallon of paint...

we are painting both rooms...

then, if I am lucky, I want to get the kitchen painted...

before the holidays...

rainy day, but I loved being out in it...

wonderful...
