its that time again...

time to freeze...

took these Sunday during the snow fall...

and we got more last night so the ground is covered now...

its bitter cold out, too...

but the good news is...

only 74 more days until spring...

and it will go by fast...

and we'll be back to swatting bugs in no time...

I am not getting back outside until the weekend when it warms up some...

getting a new exhaust put on the truck tomorrow...

Craig blew a hole in it right around Christmas...

and its really loud...

but we always now when he's home!

not doing much today...

still on the antibiotics and had a ton of drainage this morning...

so they are working...

I did get the baby bathed this morning...

fuzzball likes baths...

and blow dried her so she is so puffy right now...

I really need to get caught up on the blog hopping today...

and get a nap in...

after lunch...

Charlie's a butt...

we caught Annie nursing on the throw that Doug and Paula got me for Christmas...

(I have yet to use it)

then Charlie came from out of the blue and grabbed the end and rolled her up in it...

after he danced around on top of her, he dug her out...

to play...

but all she wanted was to take a nap...

he kept picking on her and she finally played...

these two are best buddies...

normally...

but he rolled her up again...

and danced on top of her...

again...

and then dug her out...

again...

because Charlie has claimed this throw as his...

as soon as I opened it up, he was on it...

and Miss Annie gave up on the soft throw for some peace and quiet...

because Charlie can't jump...

and she finally got her nap...

made a trip to the walk in clinic yesterday afternoon for antibiotics...

sinus infection and it was in my ears, too...

so will get this stopped before it spreads into my chest...

so many were there and so sick sounding...

hope I don't get that stuff...

rain and fog here all day...

really foggy this morning...

we missed the ice and sleet yesterday...

stayed warm enough for it all to be rain...

won't be so lucky later in the week, but nothing will be falling then but the temps...

I am going to head back to bed for a bit and try to sleep in this morning...

if the critters would just leave me be on the weekends!

my word for 2015...

is...

aware...

I have thought about this for a time...

and aware is what I want to be more of this year...

more aware of everything...

God's love...

what He wants of me...

the needs of others...

what they need and when they need it without them asking...

more aware of every moment that passes...

most slip by me silently...

of all the tiny blessings that happen around me every day...

not just the big ones...

more aware of the wrongs and standing up and being heard for those who cannot do it for themselves...

just more aware of what happens around me...

what is happening to others...

aware....

meet fuzzball...

so cute and super long hair...

kind of looks like Oscar the Grouch...

well, really looks like him...

if she were a boy, that's what we would be calling her...

and this is her house...

we lost the other 2 in this litter...

they simply just crashed hard and fast...

but if my calculations are right, this is the mama's 5th litter of the year...

one of Craig's online friends worked as a vet tech for several years...

and she said its the equivalent of SIDS in humans...

looked it up and I think we have some answers on the babies that we have lost lately...

you take unhealthy feral moms...

who reproduce far too many times a year...

and they give birth to unhealthy babies who are malnourished from conception...

and that leads to so many kinds of birth defects and still births...

born with infections...

and all kinds of other things, like worms and such...

so...

some of them cannot be saved no matter what we do...

have another one coming in when they can catch it...

and it will go in with this one...

she is lonely...

and the one coming in was dumped out in the country right after Christmas...

perhaps an unwanted Christmas gift...

that's why I hold mine through the holidays and don't let them go out...

been fighting something off here...

doing ok today for the most part...

been cleaning the kitchen, need to steam the floor...

got laundry going still...

but will soon be done...

DH heads back to work in the morning...

Christmas decor is all put up and totes were sorted and cleaned out and things are neat in the totes...

so the next holiday season should be easy to put together...

lights are all down from outside...

we strung clear lights low in the front and back of the house...

hoping with it lit up, whoever is walking off with things will move onto the next place and leave our stuff alone...

coyotes don't like the light either...

next week is going to be really cold here...

ice maybe on Saturday...

I think the bad part of winter is going to happen...

hiding out until spring...

I need to find my word for this year...

been soul searching on what direction this year will take me...

I am leaning toward the word "aware" for so many reasons...

but I will let you know tomorrow for sure...

country roads...

got some photos yesterday afternoon...

we went out to pick up a kennel that someone posted on facebook that we could have...

so we can continue with our rescues...

found some new places to go back and visit in different seasons...

it started raining on us while we were out and the wind picked up...

and it didn't take long for the temps to drop dramatically while we were gone...

it got downright cold out there...

30s for highs for the rest of the week now...

we were in the 50s through Christmas...

it didn't really feel like Christmas, but the weather so was nice to have...

didn't have to worry about the kids getting here or getting home...

all the iffy weather they were talking about missed us completely...

just need to boogie through these next two months with no blizzards and no flu...

and we will be knocking on Spring's door!

so far, we have not had the winter they were forecasting at all...

exactly the opposite...

which is fine with me...

got the Christmas totes sorted, stuff packed back up today...

left the trees per request from Craig...

and we have to do the outside lights, but we do leave those up until New Year's...

DH has a morning doctor's appointment so he can get his high blood pressure medicine for the next year...

will hit Walmart again and eat lunch at Burger King...

haven't been there is awhile...

so its time...

and this should be my last outing for a bit...

the flu is going around here like crazy!

kind of scared of the doctor's office, but he needs his meds...

he is off until Friday, so we can get all of this all put back to normal before he goes back to work...

love having him home...
