piddle fartin'...

I did get a tiny bit of time in the playroom yesterday...

it has been so cold here, so just biding my time until it warms up...

found this in one of my scrap drawers...

and switched this frame out...

super easy, super fast...

and I started on a valentine...

I need to print off the wording that will go inside and glue that down...

so will finish that later this weekend...

but in the meantime...

and since some of you have asked...

here is an update on Courtney...

that spunky girl came home this week...

and other than some pain one night, she is doing great...

not ready to run any marathons yet...

but so happy to be home...

with coffee and vanilla creamer!

everything is functioning as it should be...

and they got all of the cancer...

you can't ask for more than that...

she is counting her blessings every day...

so grateful for all the prayers going up for her and her family...

because they have all gone through this with her...

her faith has just been amazing through all of this...

and her husband's...

she has a really good support system surrounding her...

just give her a couple of months to really get back on her feet...

and watch her go...

she is so ready to give back what she has been given...

  

now, I need more prayers to go up...

Craig's friend's (Tia) grandmother saw her doctor yesterday...

and they basically told her she was dying...

her organs are slowly shutting down...

she is having to get infusions...

got another one yesterday, and they set her up to get one every Thursday now...

her liver and kidney's are failing...

she is older...

but she hasn't done well since she had knee replacement surgery...

she had is done, but she kept having trouble and infections in it...

they finally decided she was allergic to the metal in the replacement and had to remove it...

so she hasn't been able to walk since then...

there is just no bone in the knee...

and not being able to get around very good has been hard...

and she's been like this for several years now...

on her last blood work she had done, she had no iron in her system...

so they did the first infusion...

and now another one yesterday with this news...

they didn't say how long she has, but it can't be very long...

so if you could remember them in your prayers this weekend...

it would be so appreciated...

vintage valentines...

I had some play time yesterday afternoon and found some new images...

not sure which ones I will use...

but its time to start doing something with them...

if I have time today, I will hit the play room and see what happens...

we have a couple of inches of snow on the ground this morning...

it moved in late yesterday afternoon and evening...

we had sleet first, 

its 19 out there this morning, so all the slop is frozen now...

I am staying in...

our weekend looks great, though...

47 and 48 for highs...

so we are planning on getting out of town, just for fun...

not sure where we are eating out at, but I would like to hit Goodwill...

haven't been there since way before the holidays...

I have my first gallon of paint for the kitchen...

black...

for the island...

so that's going to happen, too...

my plan is to the island and then the walls...

and leave the rest of the cabinets for last, since I figure they will take the longest...

we have 25 cabinet doors to do...

and 4 drawers...

I am going to just repaint the hinges a brushed nickel, I think...

that will happen in the spring, so the cabinets may wait until warmer weather when I can take to doors outside to sand...

just another 6 weeks will make all the difference in the weather here...

well, the critters had it right yesterday...

find the sunspot and stay there...

it was a rather boring day yesterday...

the arthritis was winning, so I didn't do much at all...

a little walking...

a little stretching...

and a whole lot of napping...

I did get my sister in law's obituary wrote up...

just waiting for final approval by my brother in law before I send it the newspapers...

my niece provided all the information on it, so that helped a bunch...

around here, the funeral homes take care of that, but not in Richmond, Va I guess...

we thought that was kind of weird...

I have no major plans but to putter and keep the house work done up as much as I can...

we could get snow today, but not much...

I still don't want to be out in it...

counting down the days until spring...

trying to get back to normal around here...

its been a surreal weekend...

I didn't get to spend time in my playroom like I wanted...

but I was in there on Friday before all the crazy happened...

I dug another frame out and started in on it...

and I had this laid out to use...

one of my favorite collages...

and I ended up with this...

its small, just a 4x6...

I have 2 more frames just like this that I would like to do this week...

and this might be a future project...

its large...

we have lightly falling snow right now with just a slight dusting over night...

the wind has just howled all night long...

it came mostly in rain, so we missed the 4-9 inches...

and I'd bet those people who were fighting over toilet paper on Friday night feel a bit foolish now...

they said it was a zoo in there...

when we went early Saturday morning, there was hardly anyone there...

and the shelves were stocked again...

I didn't have to fight for anything...

;0)

the super bowl was on here last night...

and there was lots of yelling from the living room...

for me, the only good that comes from all of that are...

the food...

and the commercials...

I am home alone all week until Friday...

I wonder if I can handle all this peace and quiet?

well, I spoke too soon...

three sets of galloping feet just went by me...
