happy 4th!

we drove around yesterday to see what was going on to get ready for our 4th celebration...

I love this...

there was plenty going on...

and pottyville arrived...

people were working hard on their yards...

there was mowing, weed pulling and putting out pretty stuff...

they were getting their cars ready for the car show this morning...

and the square looks nice, too...

someone made a pit stop at one of the restaurants for supper... 

the color is just amazing on this 55 Thunderbird...

I have no idea how many will be there today, but it should be a good bunch...

and I heard there were around 100 cars coming...

we still had time for a quick run through the corn fields...

and met a new friend...

have a safe and fun day!

the weekend is approaching...

got to get a few things done around here today...

but not too much...

need to feel good for Saturday...

I have spent the last two days making cushion covers and curtains for the kids's pop up camper...

and they bought the most difficult fabric to work with...

but its done and I am not doing that again, ever...

I have kids who think mom can do anything...

which gets me into all kinds of trouble...

so, got to get some mowing and trimming done...

check for weeds and stuff out of place...

and the yard will be good to go...

have another mess of green beans to cook off, too...

I was asked yesterday to come up with a banner for the dog rescue where Charlie came from and where we have fostered dogs...

a new foster just came in...

her name is Bella and her daddy is overseas...

he was notified that his girl is safe...

and will be waiting for him when he comes home...

and then I made this banner for my facebook page...

love creating these...

gearing up for the weekend...

we have plenty to get done around here, but taking it easy today...

had enough sewing in to do me a lifetime yesterday and still more to go...

neighbor shot off fireworks last night...

they were nice, too...

but someone called the cops, so that didn't last too long...

grumpy people...

got another mess of green beans picked last night, too...

peppers and tomatoes are coming along...

normally, we should be super hot by now...

we are hopping between 74 and 81...

lows at night in the 60s...

And they say it will last all month long...

I can do this...

but not the rain...

the skeeters are the size of humming birds, too!

well, at least you can see them coming...

if you don't make it back by the weekend...

can you believe it's July already?

I found a car seat for Charlie and the first time I put him in it, he sat there for 20 minutes without complaint...

test drive coming soon...

we had sunny skies most of the day...

but something went goofy this afternoon and it poured with the sun shining...

then it quit and the sun went away...

this is were the 4 wheeler entered our yard...

nobody is running over his cats...

we will beef this up this weekend...

one of our crazy neighbors is getting a new deck off of the master bedroom...

and the beans and corn keep growing...

and the weeds...

yes, they do...

and I have been making these in my down time this week...

when someone has a birthday or anniversary on facebook...

I post one of these on their page...

its been fun finding all the images to use in them...

I was just using shabby card images, edited for the best colors...

then I framed them in the photo editor...

but these are more fun for me to make...

so grab them and use them on your friends and family...

well...

I might be in over my head...

but I am shooting a wedding on Saturday...

I hope I can pull this off...

and she knows I am not a professional by any means...

its a very small wedding with no reception...

which I am grateful for...

so pray for me...

that I can do this for them...

its going to be a long day here...

the kids are still working on the camper...

and if I get some help, I will get these covers made...

they might even get the curtains...

 I love vintage barns...

so here is one that we found on our drive Sunday...

had a guy on a 4 wheeler riding through our yard last evening...

tore up 4 yards...

and on his way out, he almost hit Mr Peebody(Hopper)...

if he ever comes into the yard again, he is going to jail...

and he knows it...

because I had a talk with him...

got the kids coming...

working on the camper...

I am sewing the cushion covers and curtains...

and taking a nap...

with dabs of rain now and then...

it just cannot make up its mind...
