yesterday's photo shoot...

for the last several months, I have been posting my photos of our area on a facebook page...
and a couple here in town asked me to shoot their potting shed...
so, here are the photos...

this was an old garage that they have wonderfully created into a gathering place for friends and family...

it is filled and surrounded with the most fun things...

I just took shot after shot after shot...

its is most certainly a place I could hang out in...

the doors are on sliders...
and they completely open up the space inside when they are open...
it so welcoming...
warm, cozy and well planned out...

hoping to get some bricks laid today...
but not sure when or if the rain is coming...
the guys sleep in on the weekends and here I am...
up for hours already...
hope your Sunday is a peaceful one...

the weekend cometh...oh, wait, its here...

just some of my shots in black and white...

got the bricks all loaded, hauled home and unloaded yesterday...

but I have a really big photo shoot today and don't want to over do until I get that done...

got laundry to do and all that fun stuff...

trying to come up with something to eat around here...

anything will do, but can't think of anything that we are really hungry for...

I mentioned chili...
(again)
but the looks I get when I bring it up...

the guys say its cold weather food...

I say turn up the ac!
but on a sweater and some socks...

the looks are menacing...

they even checked me for a fever!

critics...
coming from men who can't match their own socks...
;0)

I might just do slaw dogs...
I do like them...
they don't like slaw on their dogs...
the ones who say I have no sense of adventure...
silly boys...
sure I do...
I live here...
right?
;0)

have a fun weekend...
and eat something good...
if you have any suggestions for supper...
leave them in the comment box...

its warming up...

just got breakfast done...
still trying to wake up...

Craig is off and we are hauling more brick this morning...
before the sun gets over head...

I have plenty to do inside, should it prove to be to nasty out there...

the mornings are pretty humid yet...
but have no idea where its all coming from...

monarch butterfly caterpillars on milk weed...
there is a movement gaining momentum here on planting milk weed...
to gain the butterflies...
people are growing it in town in their flower beds...

Bender, the baby kitten...
started eating hard food and lapping water on his own yesterday...

no more bottles for that big boy, now...
I am just pouring his formula on the moist food when I feed him...

by the end of next week he might even be ready to go...

can you see yourself walking this path?
it leads to a creek...

hoping to get some more beds done this weekend...
I kind of like having things done a little earlier than normal...
it looks so much better, too...
we have a bunch of walnuts to pick up...
got to do that before the mowing can begin...

I think it might be time to clean the deck off again, too...
how can one place collect so much stuff?
when it cools off next month, I want to start doing more bon fires in the pit...
and sitting out in the dark...
I am ready for flannel and sweat shirts...
but I am so not ready for the 3 months of snow and ice that will follow that...
;0)

school starts here next week...
the college kids are starting to trek back in...
shopping in Charleston will not happen for a couple weeks...
it gets crazy down there...
so if we go, it will be toward Paris...
and Burger King...
I know, just breaks my heart, too...
;0)

come with me...

this is the bed that I did earlier this week...
cut back and pulled out that which was spent...
getting it all ready for the fall clean out...

this rose just hasn't produced this year like she normally does...
going to cut it way back this fall...

mums with buds...

the bricks we are getting...
this is all we hauled the other night, but Craig will get them tomorrow and Saturday...

none of the cabbage made heads...
but that's ok...
I just wanted the foliage...

lots to haul away and burn...
that's from one tiny bed...

I need to find more shade plants next spring...

the garden is holding its own now...
we had to water last night again...

with the cooler days, we can go every other day...
and the green beans are doing great...
should've planted them thicker the first time...

this is the pot the sparrow nest is in and there are still 4 eggs in there...

the rose of sharon still have some blooms left on it...

we have lightning bugs out the butt this year...

the back of the tomato racks...

inside the racks...

we start heating up today...
85 and then its going to hit the 90s by the weekend...

you can guarantee 2 things around here...
its going to rain during fair week...
and its going to get hot when school starts...
but now they have ac in the rooms, so its not so bad on the kids...
and not as many early outs...

the baby ate canned cat food last night for the first time and did well...
he ate without choking- no problems at all
he is 6 weeks old now...
so going to have him done sooner than expected...
I will photos of Bender this weekend so you can see him...
he's a gray tiger...
cute and fat...

not many plans for today...
just working with Bender and his eating and lapping...
he is little box trained already...

so, have good days...
;0)
the weekend is coming!

the most amazing sky...

yesterday was such a wonderful day for August...
in the 70s with these awesome, big white, puffy clouds...

so, we headed out of town a little bit chasing clouds...

Craig had the day off...

and we ran across the train moving cars...

didn't get much done, but we did have fun...

I love this shot...

and the clouds just kept coming...
we have clear blue skies today...
but it was in the 60s here this morning...
hoping for another pretty day...
;0)

have a good one!
