prayers, please...

I have this special group of people...
who need as many prayers as they can get...

their daily walk is very difficult right now...

and each day brings new frustration...

misery...

anger...

they have been beaten down time and again...

and I know that its only with God's help...

that they will be able to make it through each week...

I cannot say any more than that...

if you leave a comment, I can fill you in...

I know prayers do not need to be specific...
that God knows what is needed before we even ask...
and that he knows more about what is needed than we do...

just a few shots from my yard yesterday morning before the migraine took over and have me down the rest of the day...
hoping for a better day today...
;0)
and remember this group!

good morning from the prairie...

we are having nippy mornings and cool evenings here...

and harvest is in full swing...
picking, cutting, hauling...

just waiting for the leaves to turn...
and it is starting...

but the grass is still growing...
just dipping into the mid 40s at night...

I love the morning light as it falls across the yard...

the walnut trees are pretty bare now...
dropping nuts everywhere...

the hibiscus, cut back several weeks ago...
is leafing out again...
you need to cut them back to the ground every 5-7 years to keep them full and thick...

prayers for a safe harvest day...
and the many things going wrong in the world today...
so many things...
thankful its not us or our town...
suffering on all levels...
grateful for the promise of forever peace...
;0)
have good days...

the wicked witch of the west...

she's madder than a wet hen...
a shed landed on her sister...

a fly by...
I made her broom...

and a couple of extras...
for the witch parking area...
just in case friends stop by...

we just gathered some corn leaves out of the field behind us...
and I laid them out and bundled them up with a zip tie...
cuter than anything you can buy and free...
except for the zip tie...

witch shoes and stockings...
stuffed with fallen leaves...

there is still some blooming going on...
and I am letting it all go to seed now...
no more dead heading...

this is my favorite color of coleus...

sedum in full bloom and the butterflies and bees will be all over it...

its hoodie weather in the mornings and evenings now...
the days are warm enough...
the sun has been bright...

and an after dark shot of the front...
we found a box of lights here and put them up yesterday...

cost to decorate this year so far...
zero...
using what we already had and free stuff in the yard and field...
that leaves more bucks for the candy!
bwahahahaha!
;0)

have a sweet day!

bwahahahaha....

you know, its a little batty around here...

Craig and I did this yesterday...
and his friend, Tia, showed up to help put some finishing touches on things...

we are so ready to go...

our theme this year...
'children of the corn'

we do not display to be scary...

but rather, funny...

we made 3 brooms for free yesterday...
out of limbs and corn leaves left from the combine...

leaves, corn stalks, husks and cobs are all free and add so much...
and...
no plant was harmed...
they were already dead...

skeletons, tombstones and crows don't scare me...

all we need is a strand of white lights...
to back light it all...
and that won't be a problem since everyone has their Christmas stuff out already...
and candy...
we can't forget the candy!
we need more bats...
down to 2 big ones...
have no idea where the little ones went to...
and more crows...
I know I had a lot more than this...
all those light up pumpkins have had their cords cut...
they were just in the way...
and they were picked up at yard sales through the years...
I am thinking of repainting them...
with cooler colors than what they came with...
I will show you more later on...

have a fun day!

rain delay...

a thunderstorm moved through in the wee hours of Saturday morning...
some of the corn got laid down...

and we got some rain...

the farmers were going pretty strong up until that happened...

the new Verizon tower is going up just south of us...

they still have some work to do on it...

DH had yesterday off, so now I am all out of whack...
feels like a Monday to me...

plenty of water standing around...

I wonder how long it will take us to get used to this thing?
when we can drive by and not think somethings out of place?

we didn't do a whole lot of anything yesterday...
but we kept busy at a snails pace...

low was 40 this morning when we got up...
and its still chilly...
looking for my long johns...
going to need them soon enough...
;0)
I did sneak up to our local closet thingy...
everything is free and they take donations of items and cash...
but its closing so picked out a few things...
scare crow clothes was one of them...
;0)
