a couple of years ago...

there was snow on the ground at this time, so the 50s isn't so bad after all...

sure do wish this wind would stop blowing at 50 mph, though...

got laundry to do today, since I didn't get to it yesterday...

left overs for supper...
what ever you can find in the fridge, you can eat...

made a meatloaf and baked potatoes yesterday...

there's left over fried potatoes and sauerkraut, too...

plus a lot of other odds and ends...

got a boston butt in there to cook tomorrow...
with potatoes and carrots and whatever else I can find to throw in there...

and that will take us to the weekend...

we still have all the roses blooming still...
not sure how they do it, but we have piled the leaves on and their toes are warm...

called a new dentist place that just opened up and got an appointment for the 2nd of December...
sounds odd, doesn't it?
for the initial check up and then to schedule the oral surgery...
next Wednesday is the smashing and blood check...
and the doctor visit...
so, that will be over with another year...
would like to adjust it so its after the 1st of the year and not around all the things going on around this time...
with DH coming out of harvest, the holidays rolling through and the toy drive...
too much to schedule around...

been cleaning house...
I really live a boring life...

Thanksgiving decorating is done!

ok, so I might have cheated a little bit here...

I just pulled the Halloween stuff out and put it back it the tub on the 1st of the month...

but I hadn't put Waddles out yet...
I really forgot all about him...
the rest of the year, he lives in the bottom of the entertainment center in a walmart bag...
he doesn't go in with the Halloween stuff at all...
I picked this guy up a few years (now that could be anywhere from 3- 30 years- you know how us old people are)...
he was a rummage sale find...
it was love at first sight...
I love his bittersweet tail feathers and his little pigeon toes...

been a wild time with the weather for me...
achy and can't sleep and got up with my cough and head snot again...
heading in for a nap as soon as Craig leaves for work...
still kind of windy here, but we are ok...
got some things down outside, but not picking them up until the wind stops...
trees made it through the night ok...
it would just howl and rain sheets at times...
but we didn't lose power or the internet...
;0)
it is cold, though...
not digging that at all...

moving along...

just wanted to get a post done today with some photos to show what we have finished...
and why its taking so long on the kitchen make over...

besides having too much stuff...
our kitchen is not a tiny one...
this is the "home office" area...
it used to be my area, until I got my playroom...
now DH has taken it over...
it is where the desktop computer is and where all the mail ends up...
there is a small file cabinet right beside it...
its tucked in a corner that butts up against a built in cabinet...

the other side of the kitchen has the "food prep" area...
I can't believe that DH loves the kitchen like this...
been wanting this for years and he is so into "keeping the wood"...

and I don't know if I showed you this yet or not...
its one of my rummage sale finds this summer...
I took out all the wood dividers that you would use for mail and bills...
and we keep all those chips clips and another pair of scissors in the drawers...

our kitchen is 17' x 15'...
it serves multiple needs...
we have the cook area, home office, dining area, and our laundry alcove is there, too...
the entrance closet is also just inside that space...
so we are tackling it one wall at a time...
moving, cleaning and painting as we go...
there are 23 cabinet doors and 4 drawers in here to deal with...
it also opens up into the living room...
and that's 15' x 15'...
as soon as you come in the door,  you have a sight line right into the kitchen...
21 years ago, open concept wasn't a big thing, but we needed it with a deaf child...
we are knocking things off of the to do list one at a time...
and the make over isn't a 'complete' make over...
there are still other projects that we need to do as we get the time and money...
but its started...

DH has had to scrap ice off the windshield the last couple of mornings...
hoping its cold enough to kill the bugs out there...
roses are still blooming, though...
;0)
have a good day and hope your week is going good so far...

update...

doctor's appointment this afternoon and all went good...
got more antibiotics and will be calling to get into the oral surgeon the last of the week or the first of next...

getting things set up for blood work on the thyroid, boob exam and smashing and another check up on the 25th...
the Wednesday before Thanksgiving...
2 weeks from now...
so hard for me to grasp that...

but wally world had all the middle isles full of Thanksgiving dinner fixings...
we are going to have to shop for that next this weekend or next week...
geez...
just when I was losing weight, too...
oh, well, its always something...
but I am good to go for winter!
plenty of insulation...
;)
