we are warmer...

but the wind is something else...

I have a few daffodils in the house now...

trying to get a little bit done every evening when DH gets home...

beginning to look better out there...

there's a root upheaving that block that we need to cut down so we can semi level everything again...

did you ever have that one thing you wouldn't let go of?

this is mine...

I bought it when the kids were so small...

the azalea is brightly shining...

even have a little one beside the big one that we can dig and put somewhere else...

see the cracks in the dirt?

all that wind has dried things up pretty good around here... 

we have rain in the forecast for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday...

so with that and Easter dinner happening...

we probably won't get much done this weekend outside...

the annual Easter Egg Hunt on the square is Saturday...

and we are going, rain or shine...

the last few years, its been wonderful, sunny days...

but Easter is so early this year...

its going to be a bit chilly...

not in the 70s at all...

we are going to change dinner up a bit this year...

making it in the big roaster...

just a coupe of dishes is all we are making...

pork roast, potatoes and carrots in the roaster and throwing the noodles in there, too...

maybe some cole slaw and deviled eggs...

and that will do it...

 need to lay the pork roast down from the freezer this evening...

and we have to clean out the fridge this week and get the left overs ate up so we have room to put all this...

so suppers will be super easy...

just heat it up...

should be no excuses for not getting things done around here...

right?

if only...

the temperature matched the view...

we were stuck with both days in the low 40s...

for highs...

and yesterday morning, there was a bit of sun and blue skies peeking through...

but that ended pretty fast...

people were mowing like crazy, but we can go another week or so...

we did get 2 more beds raked out...

but this isn't one of them...

DH went to a card party for his aunt...

she turned 90...

and I stayed home...

he even did the shopping while he was in town...

I was afraid I might give her something...

still fighting stuff here and hoping its just allergies...

but just in case its not...

I do not want to be the one who causes her demise...

so Saturday was kind of messed up and not much was done outstide...

also, 2 of the babies left with their new family...

the other 2 are just waiting to go...

and already have another queen to deliver...

and one of those is already taken...

that will the last batch until we can get caught up here...

still have the kitchen to finish that we started last fall...

the beds are filling in nicely...

some of these are open this morning now...

I am going to bring a few in and put on the kitchen table...

they just make me smile...

DH is going to work a little every evening on the yard...

he burnt yesterday and raked a section of corn stalks to the field...

there is much more to rake up...

need to get it out of there so we can mow...

need to work on the easter bags this week, too...

have had the stuff for awhile...

but need to put it together...

I don't think my kids will ever be too old to get an easter basket...

spring has been put on hold here...

just for a couple of days...

its still not snowing or anything crazy like that...

but it sure cooled down...

get the weekend out of the way and then we will warm up again...

DH is hitting the yard but I have orders to stay in...

and not get sick again...

I really didn't want to freeze my tush off anyway...

plenty to do in here...

I still don't have any pansies...

but that could happen soon, too...

not quite time to pack up the winter clothes just yet...

another spring day...

this is our red maple in the island...

when I am sitting here with my laptop, this is what I see out the window...

I planted it when my mom died...

21 years ago...

the iris are really up and really need cleaned out...

the forsythia in the background started showing color yesterday mid-day...

and its about to end...

this relationship of ours...

these 2 are leaving here together...

for their forever home...

making arrangements for them to be picked up this weekend...

a younger couple with 2 kids...

and she's a nurse at an area hospital...

so they will be in good hands...

all the babies have their homes lined out...

I really didn't have to post and beg...

people wanted them as soon as they were born and have been waiting...

the last one is going to a friend of my oldest son...

his cat passed away...

at 17 years of age...

so this one is going to be just fine, too...

the little tiger with short hair has a magnificent home waiting...

a friend of mine knows a disabled man who lives alone and is looking for a companion animal...

loves tiger kitties...

tried an older one from the shelter...

it was feral...

hid under the bed and pooped everywhere...

and I mean everywhere...

so...

that one went back...

and he has been waiting for this one...

;0)

I finally had a pretty good day yesterday...

;0)

just a few aches and pains, but that's no biggie...

still on the meds for the thrush mouth...

that is better, too...

piddle fartin'   more and more each day...
