blackberry winter...

as I speak, a frost could be forming...

cold temps and wind kept me inside yesterday...

and here I am...

up in the middle of the night...

I got these from the kitchen window...

inside...

with the furnace on...

the frost part should stay north of us...

should...

and here I thought it was safe enough to pack away the winter clothing...

am I nuts?

as I sit here with my winter robe and flip flops on...

thinking I need socks...

maybe 2 pair...

drinking hot tea...

;o)

welp, if we're lucky...

we might be planting around the 4th of July...

or mowing it all off...

I am to the point where I don't care anymore...

;o)

I JUST WANT WARM WITHOUT 3 LAYERS OF CLOTHES ON!

yes,...

I had a melt down...

a mini one...

but I am ok now...

going back to bed...

(the electric blanket isn't in storage yet)

and I am gonna stick my feet on the back of DH's calves....

bwahahahaha...

he loves me when I do that...

waiting for the right light...

good morning...

and happy weekend...

we seldom see the sun anymore...

and when it does peak through...

there are rain clouds right on its tail...

and it chases away the light...

but the grass is growing...

and the green beans look wonderful...

if it would only dry up a smidgen...

so I can plant something else...

but I am thinking of pulling on some rubber gloves...

and my long johns...

and getting out there and mudding them in...

but...

there's this little common sense voice that my mom installed in me...

saying...

;0)

"don't do it!"

"you'll get sick again!"

all the while...

the weeds are growing...

and the earth has given birth to hundreds of maple trees...

AND...

my mom's voice in my head telling me to...

"give it another month"...

"then set the mower deck up on the highest level,"...

"and mow it all off!"

so, its a good day to clean out closets...

got some things done today...

worked on a corner in the bedroom and sorted out some clothes that have been tubbed up forever...

I am so bad about hoarding clothes...

guess its the hard times that have me in that mode...

but we always have a way of getting more...

so I let go today...

of things I never really loved in the first place...

kept them because they "fit"...

or might "fit" some day...

purging feels good...

thunderstorms moved in again around 5ish and dumped some more rain on us...

not really needing it and its slowing the farmers down, big time...

I know they would like to get the planting done...

prayers for all who have had the really bad storms...

got more to do tomorrow...

and through the week and weekend...

need to get caught up around here...

been down way too long!

the adjustor came and went...just like the sunshine...

'twas a dreary, gray day for the most part...

DH came home at lunch time so he could be a part of all the excitement...

I don't think the guy was here more than 10 minutes...

he will turn it all over to the next guy...

and we should know more about it in about a week...

but he did say the roof will need to be replaced along with the skylight...

so now, we just wait...

but the sun came out just before supper time...

I don't think it made it a whole 2 hours...

just enough to remind up what blue skies looked like...

with white poofy clouds...

got a call from the oldest last night...

sick...

we went and got him and he stayed the night...

doped him up good and he road back to town with Craig on his way to work...

going to the walk-in clinic tomorrow...

still gaining ground here...

feeling better every day...

;0)

the Monday after...

we had rain through the night last night...

and this morning...

but we did get our 5 minute of sunshine...

and that's all we got...

cloudy and gray but no rain...

so the rest of the post photos are what were left in the camera from the end of last week...

we had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend...

and we didn't work too hard, but we knocked a few things out...

its rained so much, we went out the island and pulled all that grass out and it was so easy!

came up, roots and all...

no photos of that...

I took the weekend off of shooting photos...

and spent the time with the guys...

got a lot done this morning, too...

3 loads of laundry...

vacuumed the kitchen dining area...

made goulash...

fed critters and changed linens in the kennels...

swept the rest of the kitchen...

and all before 10am...

I even had my shower and was dressed while I did it...

;0)

wouldn't that be the perfect place to wade through to make your way to that tree?

throw down an old quilt and have a lazy picnic?

then just lie in the shade and read a good book?

;0)

hope your weekends were wonderful, too...

Doug is sick, so prayers for him would be great!

fever and not feeling too hot...

I told him to stay home and we will get together another weekend...

I don't want whatever he has...

;0)

there's another update, too...

my brother in law finally got to come home from rehab...

doing much better and we think we finally have the answer to his problems...

pray for the doctors to get it together so they can get this straightened out...

his prostate is enlarged and had to have a catheter put it...

as soon as they did that, gallons came off...

the swelling in his legs went down and he is able to get around pretty good...

he has been working so hard at it...

doing what they tell him and more so he could get better and get back home...

we are so relieved he is home...

its been something like 3 months...

so, thanks for your prayers for him...
