someone wants this guy...

so that leaves this one...

we will soon be out of the kitty saving business...

when this one leaves...
that's it for us...

on to fry bigger fish...
forming a neighbor alliance and hiring an attorney...
we got more rain last night...
we are not spending our whole summer under water...
not happening...
:)

life goes on...just ask the ducks...

there are ducks swimming in the field behind us...
so I have named this body of water...
Duck Lake...

and life on Duck Lake is moving right along...
for the most part...

plantings are doing good...

the water isn't draining, but it is evaporating at a very slow pace...

and we have had 2 days in the 80s...
but are going back to the 70s for a bit...

I talked to some neighbors this evening...
and they are talking to more and so will I...

we are talking class action...
we will be meeting soon and then looking for a lawyer...

the roses are blooming, too...

there are more to plant this coming weekend if the weather cooperates...

and these 2 boys are up for adoption...
Hunter here is a toe and ankle biter...
but loves to cuddle...

and Toothless...
(How to Train Your Dragon)
is just so sweet...
the little girl of the bunch went to her forever home yesterday afternoon...
and now these 2 need to find theirs...
got them posted on FB late this afternoon...

finally feeling better this evening...
been a rough 2 days...
Dexter was neutered yesterday and his hernia fixed...
he is doing great...
doesn't seem to have slowed him down one bit...
the kittens were tested for aids and leukemia...
it was negative- so they are good to go...
:)
Craig has been sickly the last couple of days...
he has been off and goes back tomorrow...
just 2 more days until another weekend and hoping we get things done...

just heard thunder...
bad storms heading this way...
so have a great night and a wonderful tomorrow!

10 days...

this is the field lake behind us...
the one causing all the flooding in our  yard and the neighbors' yards...
if it wasn't such a threat to our properties...
it would be awesome to sit and watch it daily...
but lake front property (when its not supposed to be a lake)...
comes at a price...
:(

but there are other things around here that are doing just fine...

so much is blooming!

after a super long day Saturday trying to pump out the north side yard...
and just being on edge...
DH and I got out there yesterday and staying on the north side of the house...

we got more things planted and did planning for later...

we are plotting out a rose garden...
and will move the roses we have in the south side if they survive...

we have completely rethought the space between the deck and shed...
my potting bench will be going up against the shed...
it will be closer for me on bad days, anyway...

paving it with pavers, bricks and using a bit of the rubber mulch there...
I will do a post on rubber mulch soon!

we started out in winter clothing...

but by noon, I was down to a tank top...

we have a list a mile long this year...

I hope we have enough weekends to do it all!

one good thing about all the wind and rain last week...
is that I believe all the helicopters are off of the trees and the clean up now is not in vain!

and I asked God yesterday if we had to lose something from all this water...
to please take the weeds and leave the bloomers!
(you know, He can do anything!)
DH started out kind of sour yesterday and I just said not doing that today...
we need this garden time with God to heal our souls...
and he straightened right up and said, yes we do...
:)
so we got in our kneeling time and came up calm and full of peace...
things will work out...
we are being steered in a different direction...
and we are so grateful our house isn't flooded on the inside...
(people on the other street were)
and if it takes us getting involved in this to fight this farmer family...
well, so be it...
we may have to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves or just don't know how...
:)
there is a reason...
there is a plan...
prayers that we fulfill His dream...
:)
have a wonderful day!

divine intervention is needed...

our volunteer firemen tried to help us yesterday afternoon...

and they pumped for a couple of hours...
but it was no use...

the field behind us is a lake...

the tiles are clogged out there somewhere and I called the farmer...
he could care less that his field is flooding our yards...
and homes...
its under the house and has been for over a week...

we've been here 35 years now and its never held that much water for that long...
it should have went down by now...

what's next?
lawyers?
class action?
we shall see...

meet the family...

found this young family on their way to the park on Saturday...
love how the kids splashed through the mud puddles...

Canadian geese are common here now...
but they have not always been here...
about 20 years or so...

but they do like to strut their stuff and French fries is one of their favorites foods...

the live in a nest by the dam on the city lake...
its going to be fun watching them grow up...

Craig came home from work yesterday with a sore mouth...
bad tooth...
this morning it was worse, but by noon, he couldn't do it anymore and text me...
I called the dentist and got him in this afternoon...
he is on antibiotics and gets it pulled in 2 weeks...
he is off tomorrow...
so will give him some time to get the swelling down...
and we have more rain...
yay...
not...
we don't need what we got now, let alone any more...
so stay safe and dry this week...
prayers for those who have lost their homes...
and loved ones...
