a nice fall day...

its really weird having all these summer like days in the fall...

the walnuts are down, mostly...

the wind a couple of days ago really shook the trees...

it also made the "gravediggers'' giddy looking...

they look absolutely hilarious!

I wish we could take credit for it...

we are going to have to have the yard mowed again this coming weekend...

just enough rain to green it up and the warm days and nights are making it grow again...

its so quiet here much of the time...

with the guys working all the time...

interrupted by the farmers hauling to the elevator...

and the elevator is running all the time now...

the farmer behind us took the field out late yesterday afternoon...

and it was this green...

still some on the trees yet...

I am doing a cleanse thing right now, so not getting too far from the bathroom...

I will be glad when its over...

I am feeling better and cannot believe what has been coming out of me...

I guess I should do this more often...

got more rain coming tomorrow and Wed...

hoping we pick up some more...

still very dry...

not sure how the farmers are doing or where they are at on being finished...

one farmer posted today that he is done as of his last load going to the elevator this afternoon...

would love to be spending these days with DH...

I do miss doing the pumpkin patches and the fun things this time of the year...

we have lots of plans when he retires!

but I am totally confused on which day it is...

with the guys schedules, there is no weekend anymore...

Craig had today off and they both work tomorrow...

we really did a lot of the jobs no one likes to do today...

I am having problems with my right thumb...

the pain is increasing daily and the one joint pops when I move it, sometimes it locks up...

so I have an appointment on Wed with the ortho at our clinic...

he is a new guy, but the bio sounds impressive...

not sure what will take place, but trying to get the inside stuff caught up in case I can't use my hand for a few days...

weeks...

hoping its not surgery time...

made a pot of veggie soup today and we got enough rain to wet the pavement...

we sure had the wind, though...

I did get out just a bit in between things...

you should see all the walnuts on the ground now...

not a good time to be under those trees...

posting in the evenings might be the way it goes through harvest...

DH goes to bed so early some nights...

on the ones he has to go in at 5 anyway...

leaves me up with nothing to do...

just a quickie...

Craig has been off the last 2 days...

last evening, we did this...

loved doing it in the dark...

then it started raining through the night and most of the morning...

we got over 2 inches with more on the way the next 5 days...

we took a down day today...

neither of us felt very good...

and I ended up with a migraine this afternoon...

him with a sinus headache...

tis the season...

bebopping between tank tops and sweat shirts...

socks and tennis shoes and flip flops...

no wonder so many are sick around here...

so many kids are down and out of school...

the last day...

amazing how fast that one went...

mowing was finally done yesterday afternoon...

its been 4 weeks...

the pulling of the annuals has begun...

making way for better things next spring...

found this little girl at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago...

concrete with a wicker wagon...

the ferns have done well this year...

getting ready to change over for Halloween...

we are going to be popping around between 78-85 the next 10 days...

sure doesn't seem much like fall here...

except for the farmers hitting the fields...

they are going as fast as they can...

still aren't hauling in food grade...

and that's what the elevator DH works at takes in...

he's been home early every night this last week and off on the weekends...

next week should start their busy time...

maybe...
