have you missed this place?

I'll give you one hint...

I love this old jar...
I have had it for years...

its an old Ball...
and with a zinc lid...

a good place to store the small contact paper left overs...
just in case I need it later...

I love the details...

and a little wipe and its clean again...
do you use trays?
I really love them and they are all over the place...

a great place to store a couple of big die cuts...

and a little wipe here and there and these look good again...

even this came out cleaner...
how do I do it, you ask?

with these...
and what are "these"?

ta da...
cheap baby wipes...
they are quilted and really pick up all the dust...
AND...
they work wonderful on wood without taking off any finish...
AND...
they make your hands look great after all that hard work...
(people will think you have a maid)
yep, they will...
:O)
cheap?
how cheap, you ask?
well, you won't believe this one...
but they are 1.85 for 72 butt wipes...
that's a lot of dusting and cleaning in that pack...
you can thank me later...
you're welcome...

now onto more serious things...
wait- don't go...
it's HOT...
we have a warning now until Sunday night...
not an advisory...
a WARNING...
all animals are inside and not happy about it...
not one bird or bug to chase inside!
but they are safe...
I AM INSIDE!

also, an update on my progress...
another bag sitting by the door to go to the landfill...
I hate doing that, but have no place for some of it to go...
just not nice enough to pass on...
I only got a half of bag yesterday afternoon...
so much sorting and reorganizing, though...
but this morning, between breakfast and lunch...
I topped that bag off...
so I am still behind my plan, but another bag is another bag...
I am  sure I will make up for it later when I get to the bigger things...

so, stay inside, if you can...
stay hydrated...
keep an eye on pets and neighbors...
pray the power stays on!

until next time...

locked in for a awhile...

I really like the new foxglove plants in front of the deck...

and the morning glory that comes up every year now...
I made a wreath from the morning glory vines out by the field one fall and that's all it took...

the ferns are doing great in this weather...

did you know that willows grow extremely fast?
I had no clue...

more roses...

well, we ate pizza last night instead of the green beans...
Craig had picked up a couple marked down at Walmart and we just added to them...

so tonight's supper is done...
I need to get my butt moving...
need to put dishes away and grab a garbage bag and fill it...
that means play room time!

can you believe July is over half way over?
freaky, huh?
Craig and I made a trip to Family Dollar last night before supper...
and we grabbed just over $100 of cute things for the toy drive...
mostly for teen girls...
did you know that they have 10 packs of socks for $5?
that's a deal...
and they are so cute...
I need to find room in the play room to put it all, too...
get rid of one bag and bring another in...
must be my motto...
:O)
BUT...
its not staying here for long...
and some kids are going to love this haul...
was looking at their lamps, too...
may have to go back..
love finding things that will make their rooms rock...
we do not buy hygiene items of cologne sets until right before the toy drive...
I want them fresh and new...
so for now...
we shop for things that don't have an expiration date..

would you believe the windows are steamed up on the outside?
nasty out there...
holed up in here...
mama didn't raise a dummy...

have good days!

a heat wave is coming...

today is our last nice day...
then a week of very hot weather with heat advisories...

I went into my playroom/ storage room yesterday afternoon with one goal in mind...

fill just one garbage bag...
and it didn't take long...

so my plan is to fill one garbage bag every day of the heat advisory...
waiting on the tomatoes to turn!

Susie left me a comment yesterday about not doing any annuals this year...
well, we didn't either...
not one...
we put the money we normally spend on what we end up tossing in the fall on plants that will come back year after year...
annuals have just gotten too expensive around here...
and they just don't last all season...
I think they are starting them too early and are in their prime when they bring them to market...
I may take up her plan of getting artificial flowers and potting them...
:O)
my neighbor has done this for years...
and no one knows...
until the fake leaves blow into someone else's yard!
(Susie, make sure you pull them before a hard frost!  Its a dead give away if you still have blooming plants then with green leaves...)

breakfast this morning was my bran flakes with blueberries...
one of my favorite things...
we have left over green beans, potatoes and bacon for supper...
probably with some smoked sausage...
so my day is pretty much free to do what I want...
(NAP)

Have good days and keep praying for our country...
we need His love and blessings...

good morning...

hope you enjoyed your weekend...
this is one of my favorite views in the yard...
looking though the willow to the sand cherry bushes...

the roses are blooming again...
this one bloomed big earlier, and then got ready for another display...

the day lilies are blooming now, too...
just not as many as before...
some have been recent transplants and others are too over crowded and need thinned out again...

we had a slow weekend here...
we have eaten a lot of fresh green beans from the garden...
we have gotten 3 1/2 walmart bags so far...
gave the half bag to a neighbor last night...
waiting to see if they produce again in the next few days...
if not- its time to pull them and replant...

we are having a hotter than normal year with a lot of humidity...
got a really hot weekend coming up...
so thinking about indoor projects...

nothing earth shattering...
maybe just some sorting and purging of things I have held onto for who knows what reasons...
thinking I will do something great with it or I had plans I can't even remember now...
I am not a minimalist at all...
though I wouldn't mind being somewhere in the middle of that and total chaos...
:O)

with the heat, I am spending more time inside than outside...
so, I should probably get to doing something to show for that time...

hope you have a good week...
thanks for stopping by...

are we melting yet?

heat index is 109 today...
so guess where I am...

the garden is doing very well in all the rain and heat...

I love this design...

just a simple oval...
easy to mow around...
with the green beans planted on the very outside edge...
I can sit on my wagon/cart thingy and pick...
would you believe that we got 2 walmart bags of green beans on Monday?

we cooked them last night and had a neighbor for supper...
he didn't get a garden out this year...
and there are plenty of green tomatoes out there...
just waiting for them to turn...
we also have  a little humming bird coming in and eating from the tomato blooms...

the grass is still growing like spring time and its holding onto the dark green color...
and the bugs are terrible this year...
mosquitoes are nasty little things...
but the lightning bugs are so numerous this year, its fun watching the yard go dark...
wish I could have been there on the making of those...
ya know, someone asking God what are you going to do with that one?
oh, I'm going to make his butt light up...
it'll be fun, just wait and see...

I posted last time about turning the blog into a private one...
well, I have decided to leave it open...
for now anyway...
all because of 3 comments...

squash and turnips...
under the willow tree...

the hydrangea are having the time of their lives in this rainy, humid, hot stuff...

so Susie and Beth, my old friends...
we have been blogging together for so long now...
you seem like family...
thank you for your comments...

LA Dreamin' is going to be one of our favorite things in the yard...

and the 3rd comment was from Annarica from a small village in South Africa...
it touched my heart to hear from you...
its still amazes me how with the internet, that we can connect with people all over the world...
well, sweetie, your comments sure mean something to me...
I'm from a small town, too...
I think we would get along just fine and looking forward to hearing more from and about you...
I hope you have time to comment more often...

made veggie soup the other night...
so having that tonight for supper...
then the other part of the green beans on Thursday...
left overs on Friday to clear out the fridge so we can start over again...
Craig brought home corn on the cob...
25 cents an ear this year...
they were up to $5 for 4 last year...
we didn't buy any...
:)
but we are this year...
got blooms on the green peppers, too...
they seem to like it cooler, but look pretty good to me...
will see how they fill out...

well, all the animals are in...
and napping...
so think I will join them here, if there is space in my bed...
I see the couch is already taken...
:)

have good days and stay out of the heat...
only 30% chance of rain now...
may be watering after dark...
cooler tomorrow...
