1 September 1934- 27 October 1994

when time stood still...just for a little while...

It's so quiet and peaceful here today...

after lunch projects...
an old Ty bear dressed up...turned a boy into a girl...
in 10 minutes with scraps and a hot glue gun...yes...I burnt myself...again...
and so far so good on mr. snowman...did you guess what it was???...still waiting on Nova to bring me his hands...then the hot glue gun again and a bow here and a bow there and he will be done...Nova's bringing me more scarecrows to do for the gift shop her and Rebecca are doing in a few weeks for the Trials and Tribulations...so stay tuned...she could be bringing anything to get this show going...

It's lunch time...tummy's growling...

birdhouse...
table is on the ground below the deck...
the back of one of my ice cream chairs...
spooky happening here...
another weekend project...had an old message board I use when I home schooled the kids...wallpaper and some lace and it will go in my new play room...

it's still cool here...62 out and it isn't supposed to get much over 70 today...sure feels like fall...

Good Morning!

the witch is done and I love her...Nova does a very good job cutting out wood pieces!
the signs are done...until I get more wood scraps...
and this is the next project Nova left me the last time she came...can you guess what it is???

Your prayers are needed:

They are needed tonight for someone I do not know but I read her blog for inspiration and ideas. It's the last blog on my list- time-worn interiors. Her son was in an awful accident and has brain injuries. Check out her blog and remember them this week in all your prayers.

Update:

the painting is done on the witch and the clear coat is on...keep watching to see how she goes together...

as the sun came up this morning...Bebe had to pee...

so...while I was standing there waiting...I decided to turn on the Halloween lights and see if I could be a photo of them...
so...tada...here they are...
I started on these last night and got them done awhile ago...
they go on T stakes...then you nab an old flannel shirt and put it on...and gloves...and you have a scarecrow...
and I did a cute witchy girl, too...Nova cut them out for me...I told her she needed to do them...it's been 10 years since anyone around here has done any...and they are all worn out...she could sell 50 of them, I'ld bet...

Lock away and keep safe the memories of sunny days...for all too soon the rain will come...

Did you ever change your mind...?

one of my cute new signs from Nova...
the swing took up too much room...so we went for this...plenty of seating...and a good place for a mum and a pumpkin or two...later...much later...maybe...

It's been a productive day...until the naptime...

it was still a little cloudy this morning...
and a little dark...
up close and personal with Boris...
the seed pods are molding...the humidity has been high all week...
started out in the living room and worked our way to the kitchen...all the extra dishes are now in the top of the fireplace...hidden away from view but easily accessible...
found some more creepy friends...
Steve's coleus...
this mum is burgundy...
we started picking up the little gardens things and got them toted back up and put away until next spring...
if we work on it a little every weekend it won't be so bad...
persimmon tree...
Craig and Tia...
moved the table down in the yard...
put the swing up here...
and got the fountain plugged in here...and a couple of chairs...won't be long until we have to put it up, too...we are 4 weeks out of harvest and should be starting about now...the crops will be late and frost will come early...
it has a cute little faucet...
and blue and purple daisies...
it ended up being a cool, sunny day...

Hey Ray-this one's for you...

While the kids are at the football game and Steve is watching tv...

I have been goofing...pick some tomatoes before it got dark...took a short walk...called Rosie...she called this morning for prayer...her friend lost his brother and she lost her aunt...and then I painted my picture frame black...it was apple green...but the black sure looks better now with the iron work behind the mantle...just waiting on Craig to get home...its a little to early to go to bed but I feel the munchies coming on...
and these are from Nova today...she gave them to me and I sent her home with a bunch of stuff...I don't think we are making any headway of getting rid of a lot...we just keep swapping stuff...but it sure is fun!

Hey Mary- Here's your sign!

for those of you out of the link here, just check out the Blessings blog in the left hand column...they are at war with a pesky groundhog...and he's a clever guy...its a war of wits...stay tuned to see who wins...

The rains are bringing more leaves down...

they are stuck on everything...
some more creepy...
I love bats...

It's raining this morning:

and it's dark and dreary...been up since 4am...if it stays this dark...may end up back in bed...
this is good tent camping weather...no major storms...have you ever slept in a tent in the rain???it's so peaceful until the tent leaks...

have a great day!

I'll bet living in a nudist colony takes all the fun out of Halloween. ~Author Unknown

this evening...

another project...maybe a table...maybe a planter...
RIP...
fall flowers are in bloom...
foliage is dying on the plants to reveal the fruit...
a creepy face in the dark...

called the pumpkin patch lady today and they will not be having any pumpkins this year...glad I have the kind you just plug in...
