pumpkin patch time...

they have had a bumper crop this year...
and they are just beautiful...

this is Coffey's Pumpkin Patch located in Ashmore, Il...

I almost forgot to get any photos!
after spending an hour there talking with Judy and catching up...
we loaded up the van and I saw my camera...

so I hoped back out and grabbed some quick shots...
spent sunflowers...

dried gourds from last year...

such cute set ups with vintage things...

they own the antique mall I worked in years ago...

and they farm....
farmers first, though...
and Judy sells the pumpkins while all the guys are in the fields...
she is so funny...
and I do miss seeing her every day...
the grand kids are helping with the picking now, since they have all grown so much through the years...

we came home and unloaded my stash...
and around 4, I got so sick, it wasn't even funny...
took a 2 hour nap and I am holding my own now...
have no idea what it is, but it hit fast and hard...
kept me running for the bathroom for awhile...
so, taking it easy for a few days before I try being super chick again...
I think I might be too old for shopping...
please say it isn't so!
but it sure looks that way...
may just have to shop on line...
;0)
have a good week and I will get photos of the stuff I brought home...

chasing my butt, and not winning...

went out to get photos today and guess who found us...
Mr Wiggles had been dust bathing...
can you see the dust clouds around him?
Craig started patting him down and it was terrible...

I think I might need to weed the day lilies in the back...
maybe...

after the clean up...
he was worse at one point...

we got leaves down...

and I got one of the scare crows dressed last night...
leaving the other one alone...
she's in purple and black...

got some corn stalks last night, too...
picked the short ones without any ears on them...

the trees are beginning to show some color now...

found this at goodwill in Chucktown on Thursday...

EPP stands for East Palestine Pottery in Ohio...

isn't it an amazing piece and very large...
should have been in an antique mall...

and guess who found his new mommie?
her name is Jill and he will be leaving us soon...

I think I am just worn out...
Thursday was Chucktown...
hair cut, goodwill and walmart...
then lunch at Taco Bell...
Friday was the boob doctor...
(I am ok)
pharmacy, walmart, Kroger and McDonald's...
Saturday...
my son drug me to T-town...
outlet mall...
Vanity Fair, a book store, Shopco and Burger King...

I think the worst part was putting it all away after we got home...
;0)
but I did get some pretty neat stuff...

DH worked over 80 hours this past week...
and he caught that terrible sore throat, head cold thingy that's been going around...
and he looked really bad a couple of nights when he got home...
so we have all 3 had it now, and it can go away anytime...

and I got some very sad news at the doctor's office...
my surgeon, God love him...
is in the Army Reserves...
and he got called up again...
I am pretty sure this is the third trip he is making...
3 1/2 months and he will get deployed in December...
to Afghanistan...
so keep him and his family in your prayers...

I hate this stupid war...

Bobo!

here he is!

our newest foster baby...

Bobo is a male yorkie, about 5 years old...

and he is the prettiest yorkie I have ever seen...
love his colors...
I don't think he will be here long...
he is just a super, awesome little gentleman...

a beautiful fall day on the prairie...

its just been amazing today...

sunny, cool and a breeze...

plenty still blooming here...

and so much work to do...

Craig's day off, and he is so sick...
head is full and his throat is so sore...
prayers for him...
please...

we picked up our newest foster this evening...

Bobo is a 5 year old yorkie...
maybe a little older than that, even...

so far, so good...

look!
the neighbor's leaves are turning!
love days like this...
we could have this kind of weather for months...
I wouldn't mind it at all!
I will get photos of Bobo as soon as I can...
he sure is sweet...
;)
sweet dreams...

and home made chili- or rather, what's left of home made chili...

Charlie is rootin' for da Bears!

he got his hair cut this weekend...

and then a photo shoot tonight...
cuz he is kinda missing having a buddy to play with...
had a bunch of cuddle time with him today...
;0)

adoption day!

Precious with her new family!
they simply love her...

my last moments with her before the adoption...
at least I can go visit this one...

DH did get the day off, even though all the rest worked...
I loved spending the day with him...
its our 30th wedding anniversary...
and we did usual things...
like laundry, babies, yard work...
lunch and supper after the adoption...
doggie baths this morning...
nothing special...
just us being together is what counts...
now harvest will take him away from me for the next month...
;)
I do not like harvest...
I dread it...
wish is was over...
wish he didn't have to work so hard...
;)
someday...
he won't have to do it...

yesterday's shopping and thrift finds...

found this at the goodwill...
white pillow sham for the living room...
a quilted table runner...

and on the way out of town, Craig pulled over for 2 rummage sales and I grabbed this...
it was marked $5, I offered $3...
she took it...

we did our weekly at Wally World...
I found 2 mens' shirts for me...
love wearing over sized men's shirts...
long sleeve for fall...

grabbed this for the old man...
on clearance!
it was marked $34.95...
got it for $11...
and in case you didn't know...
this is BEARS country...

and so I looked in the baby section and found this for Charlie...
so football Sundays will find the guys in the recliner rootin' for the bears...
in style...
like father, like son...

and guess who followed us home?
don't you just love him?
it was love at first sight for me...
can't wait to hang him in a tree!
now who wouldn't love a happy, scary guy?

we got thunder....
and its grown dark...
I am home alone...
but that's soon to end...
guys will be pulling in in about 15 minutes...

subway tonight for supper!
sweet onion chicken teriyaki for me...

hope your weekend is going good...
harvest is in full swing here...
I have heard the grain wagons and semis hauling over the tracks all day...
train went out this afternoon...
loaded with corn...
the first load out...
and many more to come...
;0)

another fun day with Precious...

and our days with her are numbered...
she is so sweet...

can't wait to see her with her new mama...

she loved to nap on the back of the sofa...
just a couple of feet away from me...

been house cleaning today...
and playing...

and here is my new cubby hole in the corner of the living room...

rose petals and rose hips...

and I spend my down time here...
when I am not napping...

and the kitchen mini make over...

conquering one space at a time...
because the laundry keeps happening and cooking has to be done...
vacuuming every time I turn around...
its just never ending...

hoping to get a shopping trip in tomorrow with Craig...
and then more here...
hopefully a little time outside...

the weather has been great...
you know the kind...
where you spend half of the day putting clothes on...
and the other half pulling them off...
but have been able to have the windows open during the day...
and shutting them at night...
bon fire weather...
hoping to get a fire going this weekend...
if DH doesn't have to work on Sunday...
Craig is working the weekend...
so going to be home alone most of the time, I guess...

the farmers are making lines at the elevators already...
driving changes during harvest, too...
you have to leave a little earlier...
drive a little slower...
watch out for the ones who don't know how to do that...
and do your best to stay out of their way...
;0)
because they are bigger than you!
and you won't win...

have a fun weekend!
