there are still some blooms...

the temperatures are getting lower all the time at night...
but there are some things that are still going...
but probably not for long...
all then we will have to clean all of this up and dump the pots...
and get ready for the winter months...
and I am going to miss this when it goes...
the field behind us is picked clean...
beans don't leave a lot of stubble...
and the leaves are thinning out...
but if we don't get some rain...
there will be no color in our fall...
and that's not a good thing...

I'm floating today...

I have been doing the shadowing...
I'm not done with that yet...
but have to wait until it dries before I can add more...
floating takes a wet brush and a tip of color on the end...
and then you have to let it dry completely before going back over it...
then the fun part!...
adding all the details...
I am only doing 2 of everything this year...
then if it doesn't sell...
oh well...
and if I sell out...
woo hoo...
farmers are still running full tilt...
some of the corn is down to 12%...
that's way too low...
should be 18%...
and it will only go lower the longer it sits...
the dryer it is, the less weight...
the less price at the elevator...
it's crunch time...
the field behind us is usually one of the last ones out...
and they picked it yesterday...
the dust is so bad...
we have a small chance of rain Sunday...
we went from marsh lands to drought this summer...
it's just after 11am and its 64 here...
not a bad day...
sunny, too...
hope your day is pretty...
heard storms hit NYC pretty bad...
hope everyone is ok that way...

What a day...

I started out with every intention of spending the day alone...
and getting into the painting...
but...
it didn't work out that way...
and this is all I got done...
I had 10 visitors yesterday...
2 men wanting my help in getting signatures from my neighbors for a grant to fix our sewer so we never flood again...
then when I was about to take my nap...
Doug comes in with his laundry and his friends Keith, Jenna and Malachi...
Malachi is 4...
then comes a girl who used to live across the street and that I changed her diapers and babysat through the years with her new daughter, less than a year old, Lilly...
she was gone maybe 20 minutes and her sister comes in with her 6 week old baby boy, Riley...
I spent the afternoon rockin' babies...
even got spit up on...
it was cool...
and the beans got pick in the middle of all the rockin'...
Doug got these photos for me...
look at all the dust!...
the windows are closed and the air is on...
the cold front came through...
2am and its 56...
a bit nippy...
baby rockin' wore me out and I went to bed very early and I'm up now...
but on my way back...
milk and 2 apple newtons should hold me till breakfast...
and slap me silly...
but I didn't get one photo of anybody...
oh well...
maybe next time...
night- see you in the morning...
