Only eyes washed by tears can see clearly.
-Louis L. Mann

my guys rock!

this had turned into the biggest mess this year...
with all the rain the weeds took it over...
so they dug it all out and pulled and pulled and dug some more...
then added the top soil and potting soil...
manure will go in later...
dug one of the lavenders from out back...
and it went there...
moved a pot in here...
later this fall a pale pink knock out rose will go here...
moved the ball here...
it needs repainted...
bowling ball painted with bronze paint...
moved a shepherd's hook in...
and in comes the portulaca...
and that's it for now...
we have a good base to work from...
next year will have the rose bush and in front will be my pink begonias...
sparingly...
can you believe this?...
the blooms just exploded this morning...
and earlier this morning my dear, sweet husband pulled all the water grass out of the tomatoes...
it's just after noon here and it's only 81 out!...
but the hot weather is coming back again...
should hit Tuesday...
we were supposed to have more rain yesterday and last night...
but I sent it to Kathy who needs it so bad...
hope you got it, girl!...
we just got a little last night...
so it went somewhere...
Blessings to all of you and thank you so much for all the comments and just taking the time to stop by...
have a wonderful weekend!

it's such a nice, cool morning...

it's still in the 60's...
aftermath of last night...
picked a few more bloomers to go in the bowl...
dianthus...
I remember now why I don't do these...
too much work all the time...
they always need dead headed...
rose moss and petunia...
well, on to bigger and better things...
hope your garden smiles back at you today...

last night...

we finally had a cooler evening and spent it around the fire pit...
hubby really enjoys the lounger...
it was cloudy and overcast last night and still is this morning...
not sure what all we're going to get done today, if anything...
hope you have a good weekend...

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
 Revelations 1:8

Beth made me do it!

I was blog hopping...
innocently...
I swear...
and I popped into see what Beth was up to...
and then I popped into her food blog...
and I kept looking...
until I couldn't take it anymore...
this is the best I could come up with on short notice...
ice cream sandwich...
butterscotch topping...
a reese's peanut butter cup on top of all of that...
it is good...
my will power is gone...

this is where I left it...
go on...
go look...
I double dare ya...

some of the things I collect...

advertising cards...
I love the graphics...
early, early greeting cards...
with special verses inside...
the size of a post card...
the front cover is embossed...
the edges are die cut...
another die cut...
I have my albums out...
so I will be posting more later...

watering can fun...

I have been wanting to do this for weeks...
finally getting around to some things...
the hanging basket looked done...
over done...
so it's gone...
the sedum is coming on...
not only the cars got a bath last night...
so did Bebe...
I soap him up 3 times!...
white dogs who roll in the tar bubbles turn into dalmatians...
this mess is going...
I have not been happy with it in a long time...
so we are transplanting some...
the rest on the burn pile...
I was telling Craig I'm not happy about it and I want it back to grass...
or rocked...
and he has an idea about a hammock here...
stretched between the two trees...
pea gravel under and keep the brick border...
sounds like a plan...
I will keep you posted...

finally...

we had a mini car wash last night...
and the crud has been scrubbed off...
well, we still have the truck to go...
but it's progress...
I can't believe the car is 12 years old now...
time sure flies...
it still runs and the doors aren't falling off...
so it will be here a while longer...
the reason I picked it was because the back seat folds down...
and makes the trunk super sized...
including the back seat area...
and from the trunk you can haul lumber...
chairs...
dressers...
cause you never know what you are going to find rummaging!...
I have hauled so much back there...
and always carried bungee cords and a red flag for larger things...
because at the time the kids were still in school and I had to be practical...
we had to ride together so much...
Craig got his van this time last year...
it gets him to classes and back...
it's 17 years old...
out of 4 vehicles...
there isn't one car payment...
and that's a good thing...
now if we just didn't have to have insurance, tires and gas...
it would be a perfect world!...

If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.
-American Indian Proverb

my goofy roses...

finally a photo where you can tell the difference in the shades of these roses...
one is truer pink and the other a redder pink...
both are from the same rose bush...
my knock out rose...
my bowl of blooms today...
they sure brighten up the table...
found a japanese beetle and a white spider in them...
sorry no photos- they were smashed immediately...
if I would have thought...
I would have had a post for White Wednesday with the spider...

I thought the bugs were eating on these...

caught red pawed...
Doofus...the name fits...
this is why all plants are outside...
he will not leave anything alone inside...
except for my bowl of blooms...
cannot have the foliage...
Boofy watching the soy beans grow...

if you haven't seen this...please watch...

This is the story of a young girl who paints Heaven.
It brought me a peace watching it...
and a longing...
let me know what you think...
it came in an email from a friend and it needed to be shared...

the rewards...

the fleeting rewards of spring planting...
captured forever...
for long after the moment is gone...
I hope you find your moment today...
