Those who are lifting the world upward and onward are those who encourage more than criticize.
-Elizabeth Harrison

I have been thinking all day about what I am thankful about this Sunday...
there are many things on my list today...
spending time with my fanily...
being out in the sun...
playing with kittens...
cooked apples...
and more...
including my blogging buddies...
and all the encouragement I get from you everyday...
this is my 1770 post...
I know, I'm long winded...
but I was more impressed with the 1040 comments you all have left for me...
and I wanted to thank all of you for taking time out of your busy lives to leave me with the sweetest words, prayers and wishes...
I know there are some who visit who don't have time to leave comments and that's ok, too...
I only hope you walk away from my blog feeling the way you make me feel when you visit...
totally hugged!
Hugs and Blessings- Tete

it was so hard to do...

dumping pots that were blooming...
putting up all the fun summery stuff...
emptying baskets and such...
turning things over and taking things down...
making it tidy...
I suppose so all the leaves can cover it up later...
and I said good bye to my loyal friend...
my poor old $500 van...
wah...
but I got $50 out of it...
so I guess it was my $450 van...
now there is only an empty spot...
but it does look nicer...
then we were out by the road and a baby wood pecker came to see me...
he was eating nuts...
he is right in the middle of the photo...
he is a little guy...
a male...
what's left of the decor out front...
scary pirate guy and 3 bats gone...
neighbor kid...
DH caught him in the yard late Friday...
when Craig and I went for a walk today...
we ran into them and I asked them if they had taken my stuff...
him and his little sister said nooooooo...
the neighbor told me  he showed him one of the bats the other day...
the boy is 11 and the little girl isn't in school yet and they are allowed to run all over the neighborhood all hours of the day and night...
pray for them...
there is a lot more to this...
so, just pray really hard for them to get the help they need...

we have a pork roast in the oven with potatoes and carrots...
DH just got the apples peeled and cut up...
I'm going to cook them off to put on top of vanilla ice cream later...
the bedding is in the washer...
and we are just about done...
it's not even 2:00 yet...
I think we are doing good!...
oh, gotta make some cole slaw so it can sit awhile so the sugar will dissolve...
have a great afternoon...
Monday morning will come soon enough...

New arrivals...

a neighbor found these old bottles and a jar where a house was torn down...
he brought them to me as a gift...
the outsides are washed...
but not the inside...
2 little bottles...
one with a rusty screw on lid and the other, a cork...
the cork one is embossed on the side and says...
3 in 1 oil...
and the bottle has a slight blue/ green tint to it...
these will not be cleaned any further...
to do so would endanger the lids...
they are very fragile now...
now the Ball jar...
The word Ball is embossed...
but ever so lightly...
at first, I thought it wasn't marked at all...
and I loaned my jar book to a friend some time ago...
so I can't look it up...
with 2 threads and a high hip...
it's old...
my guess would be one of the oldest with a screw top...
and it is full of bubbles and wrinkles...
these were the only pieces that were under the old house that were intact...
he said there were a lot of bits and pieces...
and then from eBay...
I had bought these sprigs...
I got 4 of these in a lot...
and 3 of these...
I so hope your weekend is full of sunshine and laughter...
soaking up the fall rays and romping in the leaves...
got the old van cleaned out and now it can leave...
the Senior Center had a lasagna supper to raise money for new ceiling tiles...
so the guys ate that...
I had donated 3 Christmas crafts for the silent auction...
I had told the guys to put my name down and bid on something cool for me...
Craig had to stop DH from bidding on one of the items I had donated!...
Instead of being embarassed...
he just beamed and said...
see, I know your style and what you like...
I so love my silly, silly man...
I had many happy thoughts today...
hope you did, too...
