what a weekend!

just look at that temp!

in the 50s at night...
the beans behind us are starting to turn...

this morning we cleaned the deck and got the clean bedding back out there...

didn't take too long...

then we came in and made chili...
had it for lunch and for supper...
still some left over, too...

so I thought I would blog right after lunch...

went out to get some photos...

and I do like this place more and more every day...
we put blue tarps up ( only because I couldn't find another color- like white or tan)...
to block the winds and rains that will be coming...

hopefully the bedding will stay dry and we can sit out in the storms...

but, I got side tracked from blogging...

like feeding babies...

and cleaning out their kennel...
that's 2 tomato plants there...
as tall as the shed...

so when they were done...
DH and I went for a ride...

out past the football field and the grain elevator, which was open today..

to find this...

I love all the prairie flowers that we have around here...

they come and go with the seasons...

saw a byplane while we were out...

and the skies were just amazing...
I love lone old trees standing in the middle of nothing...

corn is ready...

and the beans are getting there...

but they don't look so good...

a corn field picked...

just look at that sky over a bean field...

and with the 3 inches we got Friday...
we have water in the creeks and rivers again...
and its moving water, too!

and its a little muddy...

a corn field that has had its end rows taken out...
they do this so the wind can dry the center corn better...
they plant the center one way and the end rows another to hold moisture through the growing season...

this is the sickest corn we saw...
there are no ears on it and its so short...
about my height or shorter, which is bad...

its been a wonderful weekend and the kittens are thriving...
Tori is still doing well and is so upbeat...
God will keep blessing her and restoring her spirit...
the days have been in the low 70s...
who could ask for more than that?
we are so blessed!
