our supper tonight...

green beans fresh picked this morning...
cooked with potatoes and bacon...
and garden fresh tomatoes from Ninnys Country Cupboard...
it was so good...

the vacation is over...

I have just spent the 10 best days with my husband...
he took a week vacation and he couldn't have picked a better week...
the weather has been perfect...
even though it's starting to warm up again...
and we spent it at the most wonderful place in the world...
our home...
with our family...
together...
and I'm so going to miss him when he walks out that door at 6:30 in the morning...

Ryan Bruce update:

Things are going better but they face new challenges with each new step.
Over the weekend, Ryan got moved to a larger room, which is very good news for him and his family who are stay with him.
His mom was sleeping in a chair.
Now she has room to open the chair out into a bed.
His dad and sister are better now and can help out again.
He is doing very well in his therapy.
He can undo velcro.
This is good but a problem.
The J collar for his neck and his straps that hold him in the chair have velcro.
He keeps trying to gets these off.
One night he was fiddling with his trach, IV, velcro...anything he could get his busy hands on.
But he's gaining.
He is down to Motrin for pain, but still having problems with his shoulder/shoulder blade area and until they take that trach out, he can't talk and tell them what's going on.
Same prayers are needed.
Strength for all of them,
shoulder,
trach out,
physical therapy to continue to progress,
wisdom for those who are working with him.

a special gift....

Kyle called late morning and said I have a surprise for you guys...
he said he would be here in half an hour...
an hour later I call him back...he's at Walnut Point...
distracted again...
so I came in and started my nap...
Craig woke me up...
Alaina had come with him...
and he brought this bag that needed to go in the freezer...
Alaina loves Bebe...she giggled when I picked him up for her to pet...
Craig tried to show her the cats...but she liked the little fuzzy dog best...
she was in pigtails...
but back to the bag that needed to go in the freezer...
it contained 2 half gallon boxes of blue moon ice cream!...
Sisson Times blog did a posting on this back on Nov 7, 2009...
and I left a comment...
we cannot get Roundy's items around here anymore...
so 8 months later, Jeri sent us some...
Thank you so much, Jeri!...
between Blue Moon...

and this...
my summer's going to be ok now...
if you haven't tried this...you got to...
ice cream sandwich...break it in two...
and put butterscotch topping on it...
you can add hot fudge along with the butterscotch and it tastes like a mudslide from Dairy Queen...
PS- Blue Moon tastes like a calm fruity pebbles...
yum...

our life...

have you ever tried to do something and someone is always in the way?...
love sun faces...
my 3 stooges...
columbine...could be purple or pink...
Craig...
Doug...
and Steve...

picking bean greens this morning...

Craig, under protest, started picking early this morning...
I only could do a little of the picking...
we got enough for a mess...
there are more blooms open this morning...
Steve scrubbed the bird bath yesterday for me...
someone is doing an I&I Deli run this morning to grab some bacon so I can get these on...
the loungers are getting a face lift...
Doug's almost got this all primed...
just inside the slats and it will be ready for a coat of paint...
I totally like it white...
