Monday...

my guys both had the day off yesterday...
so, we were all home together...

a rarity during harvest...

Craig came home early Saturday night...
he started throwing up at work...

Steve and I had tummy problems yesterday morning after a quick drive on the way to get breakfast...

tummy flu is going around here something awful...
and I guess it found us...

I feel  better this morning...
so hoping it was just a 24 hour thing...

we did not get a lot done except lay around and watch tv...

and naps...
there were plenty of naps...

we had all the fixings to make 2 big pots of chili...
and spend the day outside awhile...

the rest of the time, they guys wanted to watch football while I did my own thing...
but we looked at each other and no one really wanted the chili...
so we made a big meatloaf with baked potatoes...
we had breakfast and then skipped lunch altogether...
so we did an early supper...

Friday,  the grocery store here in town had this...
the owner told me its a "lunch lady gourd"  ...
;0)

and I was looking for a pumpkin to finish this up...
but they were $7.99 each!
this gourd was only $2.99 and was bigger than the pumpkins...
and way cooler...

pirate guy got a make over late yesterday afternoon...
he was starting to go bald...
looking for a black curly wig to complete his make over...
but until then, the bandana will have to do...

and Craig helped me redress the other scarecrow...
while his dad slept...
this will go from fall through the winter...
won't change it again until spring...
unless I find a cool winter sweater...

I sure hope this week is a bit better than the last one...
the weather is just perfect, though...
we did miss the eclipse last night...
we were cloud covered...
figures...
we usually are...
might get some rain mid week, but not much is forecast...
so the farmers will be getting a lot of picking done...
the beans are pretty much all out now...
they have started hitting the corn fields, picking them off one at a time...
hauling it in or binning it for the winter...

hope your weekend was a good one...
not one with the flu...
and I hope the days were as pretty as ours...
;0)
