just waiting on a phone call...

I haven't heard from my step mom since Monday night...
I know she has her hands full...so I am getting dad's weekly cards ready to mail...
I send him 2 cards a week...he carries them with him and shows everyone...he still remembers who I am...
but I have run out of all my cards here...so I thought I would just make them...I can do that...
and I found these Easter seal stickers in some of Harold's stuff...no telling how old they are...
but they are all flowers and shiny and bright...
dad needs that now...
I hope he has a peaceful night...
and his own doctors are able to get things all straightened out again...
have a good night...dream of somewhere wonderful...

Johnny Depp woes...

Well...we haven't seen Alice in Wonderland yet...
my friend and I are totally inept with all the new electronics...
so...ok...we're old...
it happens...
and the movie was in Bluray...
needless to say it won't play...
so...it will be this weekend before another trip to our friendly neighborhood Wallyworld can happen...
we live in the boonies...
far away from Wallyworld...
Mickey D's...
and all the normal culture most enjoy in their own backyard...
it's a 30 minute drive through cornfields and forging rivers...
of course they built a bridge...but that's not the point...
and we are an hour away from Hobby Lobby...
Red Lobster...
but hey...we have a Casey's!...
there are no neon lights...we have lightening bugs...in season...
there are no bars...seriously...we are a dry town...
but we have a swimming pool...
a golf course...9 holes...to get in 18 you have to go around again...
a lumber yard...
tractor sales and service...
a grocery store...
a car wash and a laundry mat...
and we even have a library...open on Tuesday afternoons...
we have our own school...k-12 even...
my son's graduating class totalled a whole whopping 34...
we have a grain elevator...
a couple gas stations...
we have stop signs...but no traffic lights...
we do have cops but only one squad car...
they take turns...
they patrol from 6pm-1am...
there is a cemetery...and several parks...
there's a tennis court...but it's not been used in years...
and we have horse shoe pits...
there is one baseball diamond...
and a football field...
there are several brick streets left...
a square up town...
we do have our very own post office...
but no in town delivery...
we all have post office boxes...
that's where you go to find out what's going on...
so my review of the "new" Johnny Depp movie will have to wait...
we will have to pack a lunch for the long journey and make sure we fill the tank before we go...
by then it might be on the Disney Channel...
sorry for the delay...

today...so far...

everything was still a little damp this morning...
these will soon open...and with so many blooms...we moved these here last year from a crowded bed in front...
a neighbor came with this 2 years ago...I have bad memories of cactus...my mother had many about the time I began to toddle around...and I can remember tweezers and plucking many, many sticky things out of my hands...so I gave this to Craig to put in his bed thinking in our climate it would die in winter...
it survived the flood...the snow...the ice...and it's bigger than ever and spreading...when he moves out, he's taking it with him...
a dime in the road...
my lunch...chicken noodle soup...an all time favorite...and of course- it's Campbell's...
there are just some things you never outgrow...
then onto my bedroom...
a google eyed doll...this is number three bought off of eBay...
the other 2 were my mother's...exactly alike...bought in 1940...
and they were dutch twins...they all have wooden shoes and are stuffed with shredded wood...
an overnight case that belonged to Steve's mom...my mom had one just like it...so now we have 2...
a hat box I picked up at a garage sale so many years ago...I think it was at Rebecca's sale...
and I picked up 2 of these about 10 years ago at the Dollar General when they first came to town...
thinking I could reuse these...
pop open the back and put vintage toys in them...
I can't get the backs off without busting the whole darn thing to pieces...
so here it is...tacky as ever...but I love it...
forgive me...
vintage pressed glass vase...love them...only have 2 left...
sold off all the others...
occupational hazard...again...
and no bedroom is complete without a fur ball...
Georgie loves to hang around in there...
the photo shoot kind of disturbed his nap time...
but not for long...
hope you're having the kind of day that makes you purrrrrrr...

What's blooming this week...

the sun is just now trying to peek through...so maybe we can get some outside shots later...
Rebecca and Terri have both called...going in separate directions...
the train is going through...
and I think it's time to tackle the living room...
everything is really wet outside and we have another 2 inches coming...
everything needed watered so bad...
and with the lightening...they will grow better...

good morning...

working on a new collage...
the coffee just started dripping...
Steve will soon be up...
and I am on my way to bed...
couldn't sleep...
thunderstorms moved through and all the critters were on top of me...
ought to just build a chicken coop...
seems like that's what we raised around here...
either that or we need a bigger bed...
later...
