this afternoon...

I got everything printed off and began...
and I love the colors...
I am not a red person and the typical red and green of Christmas isn't my favorite thing...
I like all colors...and my favorite glass ornaments on our tree are chocolate brown...
I would really like to have a job designing and picking colors for wrapping paper and bows...
but there's a good chance that no one else would see things the way I do...
and I would be out of a job lickety split...
in the meadow we can build a snowman...

what's a girl to do?...

made two to-do lists...
both are done...
so its either make another one...
or play on the computer...
and remember...someone is sick and sleeping...
so can't really vacuum or any gourmet cooking...
nothing that goes vvrroooommmm or bbbuuuzzzzzzz...
even though I think his snoring would drowned out the food processor...
and with the Halloween tags done and all...
its time to start on Christmas...
how do you get in the Christmas spirit on Memorial Day weekend, you ask...
turn up the ac, grab a sweater, and sing walking in a winter wonderland...softly...
over and over...
remember someone is sleeping...
now that that song will be stuck in your head for the whole weekend...
and we have 90 degree temps out there today...
you can thank me later...
hopefully the thought of snow butt deep will keep you cool when the dog takes out the picnic table...
later girls...

the weekend's works in progress...

large veggie cans make great elevated stands for anything...and soon they will begin to rust out...
more bloomers waiting to stretch their roots in the dirt...hopefully, they will find a permanent home...
the north fire pit is cleaned out...
and Craig moved the wood ring behind it from the other side of the yard...
he needs to cut up the rest of the wood for it to fit in here...
last night about 9...Craig and I were sitting in the yard and I had a thought...
moved the wagon in to here...
the tin cans need new strings to hang down from the top...
still thinking on this area...
he switched this chair with the brown one...need something here...still more thinking...there could be something in the shed...
the bird bath needs scrubbed today and filled...
filling all the holes in the blocks with dirt...
and then planting in them...
this area is almost done?...right...I have to tweak...but its good for now...
can't wait till these fill in and bloom again...
whatever kind of weekend you choose to do...
rest or work...
I hope  you do it well...

got moving early this morning...

the sun is going to warm things up a bit today...
mower guy came yesterday and got the yard done...
got two of these planted in front of the white fence in the memorial garden...with Harold gone now...its not just for girls anymore...
this was done before...
but we started in planting the rest of the pots...
Georgie supervised...
and this is what we got done...and all the pots washed...
we had plans on getting things done this weekend and getting caught up...
well...things tend to change around here...
Steve was fine when he got home...
got a shower and ate supper...and then...whammmmmm...
completely out of no where...
he was running a pretty good fever...and he's down for the count...
I thought the flu bug was supposed to be done by now...
he sweated a fever off several times last night...
twice I had to get up because he was just too hot to sleep beside...
so maybe this thing will finish today and he can have a couple days feeling better...
Craig got the bicycle basket planted this morning and begonias in behind the shed while I did the pots...
he went back to bed...
Steve had breakfast in bed and is sleeping again...
so I may just take a nap...
its not even 8am but I have been up working since 3am...
have a safe day...
