Researching...

The Streak-O-Lite wagon was manufactured by Radio Steel & Manufacturing, a company that later became known as Radio Flyer, Inc. The company was founded by Antonio Pasin, a man who emigrated from Italy at the age of 16 and started his own toy wagon business in 1917 with little more than ingenuity and a lot of hard work. The Streak-O-Lite coaster wagon was introduced in 1934, amid the Depression of the 1930s. Although people were forced to live with less, they desired better lives for their children and continued to purchase wagons. Because of this, the wagon factory was able to remain open through the depression, producing 1,500 wagons a day.
I have been researching the little wagon in this old photo of my dad and his brothers....
I posted this today with some other photos...
and this is what I found...
the one my dad had was without headlights...
but still pretty cool...
they lived in southern Missouri...
I love the design of this wagon...
it's so different than my radio flyer...
here's the website I found this on...

God bless them...

and their families and friends...
in Heaven there is no sorrow...
as tears fall from those left on Earth...
Praying for all who need comfort...

and so goes my day...

Robbie with morning hair...
do you think oak will ever make a comeback?...
DH will not let me paint the entertainment center...
it's amish made and was a little expensive...
but when we get a flat screen...
it will have to go in one of the bedrooms...
sorting photos today...
my great grandparents and my grandma and her sisters...
my dad and uncles...
my grandfather's parents...
my great grandpa and me...
my dad in high school...
when my dad joined the Air Force, his dad sold Champ and wouldn't tell dad to who...
my dad's uncle Charlie found out where Champ was and when we were down there on vacation, he took dad to an old shed and said I have something for you...
it was dad's saddle...
he had kept it for him all that time...
I was 14...
and then he told dad that he had found Champ...
so on the way home we stopped by the farm he was living at...
we pulled up and he was right there in the pasture...
dad whistled and called his name and he came right to him...
it was an awesome moment...
the man came out and they talked and I rubbed his nose...
the man said he had been a good horse, and he was so old...
he had bought him a companion with the same color and stocking feet...
and Champs feed had to be ground...
they no longer rode him...
he was over 25 years old...
it had been 20 years since my dad had seen him...
but Champ knew him...
and dad was at peace with it...
knowing he had been loved and taken care of...
and my dad in the Air Force...

I'm having a really good day so far...
about nap time...
and it's so cold out...
the wind's blowing...
the snow is drifting...
and I'm not going out there!
have a fun day!

NanaDiana left me this message on Debbie's surgery...

News on Debbie is tentatively good. She appears to have come through fine although the operation was a bit more extensive than they thought going in. Continue to pray that the lymph nodes they took are clear.
thank you so much for the update!
we need to continue praying for clear nodes!
and for anyone who hasn't had a hysterectomy...
the one where they cut you from hip to hip...
it is the worst pain ever right after surgery...
those first 6-8 hours are not fun at all...
I had mine when I was 29...
back when I was tough...
and it was hard...
the morphine in the IV only lasted a minute...
so I watched the clock until I could hit it again...
I could use it every 10 minutes...
clear fluids until you get your bowel sounds back...
which takes about 3 days...
I had a catheter, drain bag, IV and BP cuffs on my legs...
had mine done on Friday and came home on Monday...
I got up the 2nd day and started walking...
DH was with me every step of the way and the more I walked the less it hurt...
I would not want to do it again...
ever...
it's going to be months before she feels normal...
it took me 6 months before I was back at normal...
and I was 29...
so, keep her in your prayers...

This week's whites...

a scene in one of the gardens last Friday...
and the roses brought in to save...
the bench on the deck was covered in snow...
but that went away...
shadows on the wall Sunday morning...
and the sunbeams dancing in the sunrise...
a project completed...
my GOD BOX...
write down your prayer and stick them inside...
and then Tuesday morning we woke to more snow...
and a little rearranging going on inside...

and that was my whites for the week...
check out more whites here...
