Mosquito non toxic fix:

If you have a stagnate pond or ditch or water area etc. Simply find some whole prickly pear. Many people give it away and cut shred or scar it up and put in the water. It has a natural oil that inhibits mosquito breeding for the REST of the year. And its natural. Do watch the little itty bitty spines. Duct tape is best to remove them if you do get some. You can put a little in bird baths too. No part of the plant is toxic. In fact all parts of the plant are edible with care of course.

Ok- found this online- does anyone know if it works???? Let me know if you try this...I have no idea where to find a prickly pear...HELP!

To everything under Heaven there is a season:

Please remember Craig in your prayers in the days and weeks to come... I believe Ruth has decided to move on in her life without him...and he knows...but it won't make it hurt any less or let him feel any less lonely...even though one door never closes without another one opening and the best part of his life is yet to be...

Our other neighbor's yard- this limb fell on the electric lines, Steve and Craig helped them cut the limbs off the lines last night...

we had no power for awhile- but I figured it would come back on and fry them all...but it didn't...we weren't out too long...it was back on by 9pm...

Our yard this morning full of debris:

There are leaves and small sticks all over...

Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

This is just way too much fun:

I can't wait till winter...when I have more time on the computer to put more of these together...or it might be this week...since the weather looks hot and it's going to be so humid with all the rain we have gotten...but there is the front bedroom that needs cleaned out...which could take the rest of the summer...but that's another blog moment...stay tuned...

It got exciting here last night- it was an Auntie Em moment:

we are ok but our neighbor across the road is not...
it missed the house...
and the sheds but took out her gazebo...
it was a big old tree...

we heard the crack just as we all bailed in the front door...the big trees along the railroad just bent double...it looked like the hurricane shots they show on the weather channel.

we had some leaves in the yard, a picnic basket blew off a shelf and one metal chair was laid down...that's all we had...then the second storm went through...we have almost another 2 inches of rain...we don't need it at all...more later...
