prayers & praise...

praise...
Robbie, who I have asked prayers for- who was born a little early...
then had complications...
3 hospitals, surgeries and who knows how many doctors and nurses...

got to go home today for the first time...
after 2 1/2 months in hospitals...

praise...
Tori, who bravely fought cancer...
had her 8th grade graduation...
she missed a year with chemo and her amputation...
but so far, all pet scans have been squeaky clean!

prayers...
for Teresa...
who's husband only has a short time here...
advanced cancer found too late...

prayers...
for a tiny baby who might not make it...

prayers...
for those dealing with the floods this spring...

prayers...
for our soldiers in harms way...

where does time go?

it just seems like we were planting the garden...
and I turned around and its the last day of school here...
but did want to show you a few things...
the lockers- bought last fall off of a friend who posted them online...
finally got moved onto the deck for storage last weekend...
all connected and heavy...
love it there...
cleaned up all the clutter of things you don't want anyone to see...

and the kids helped move the stuff around on the deck...

and its all coming together...

hung this up to keep the wasps and dirt dobbers from making nests on the deck...
supposedly, they think its a hornets' nest and won't build anywhere near them...
will let you know how it worked when summer is over...
its just a brown paper bag with walmart bags in it...

shhhhh...
you can hear the corn growing!

clover is blooming now...
great for the bunnies and the bees!
but wear shoes...

got to work on a few more areas and find something to use this old paint on...
they will take empty cans but not ones that have paint left in them...
just add some water and white wash a few fences and it will be gone...

my old non gliding glider is out in the yard now and about to be repainted...
soon, that flower bed will be expanded and the glider will set just inside it...
so we will never have to move it to mow again...

back on the deck now...

we looked high and low for rose bud impatients this year...
and Craig finally found 2 in this by-color...

I need to dig out the new pillows that I have been snagging up all last winter...

and there it is so far...
not a bad place to spend time...
my last day of lying low...
Craig is off the next two days, so will put him back to work again and I will be outside all day long...
hope you are having a good week...
I am doing pretty good, considering all that we got done and trying to keep up with the guys...
have a great weekend if I don't get back in here...

a very productive weekend...

we did get the deck cleaned off and moved around...
lockers are up there and I didn't get a photo of it all...
next time, I promise...

I had this bright idea and so far, it is working great...
weed cloth for a shade...

meanwhile the roses started blooming...

finishing touches went everywhere...

Craig scrubbed and Doug spray painted for me after Paula and I put the stickers on...

we need to paint the bottoms yet...

I am in pain- but things got done and I tried my best to keep up the whole 5 days...
taking some down time today...

Doug and Paula camped out in the yard the whole weekend...

Paula and Doug...

DH and I attached this to the bridge...
trying to decided if I want to paint the center hanging thing white/ black/ or something else...

the garden is doing good...
we just need some rain- missed it all this weekend...

the corn is up and growing in the field behind us...

we had a good weekend- hope you did, too...
now for some R&R and a nap or two...

to honor those...

Thank you to those who died and to those who lost someone very special to them.
Forever remembered and always in my prayers.

our town square...

yes, we still have brick streets...

the park in the center of the square...
we are not the county seat, so no courthouse...

Main Street...

we have lost so many businesses over the years...

this is the only bank left here now...

Columbian Building...
our civic center...

the Wigginton Hardware building...
it has been many things over the years...
it no holds a children's theater in one side and a woodworking shoppe in the other...

I am majorly sore this morning, but got of bed on my own...
we did a lot yesterday and have more to do today...
have a good day!

Happy Friday...

just wanted to get a quick post in here before the weekend excitement happens...

these are the front windows of a new business coming to our little town...

they are hoping to have it open by fall...

lots of remodeling to do on the inside...

I jumped out of the van for closer images....

and the images of the windows combined with the reflection of the sky and square are awesome...

that I just had to share these with you...

first thing this morning, we are cleaning out the shed...
I am so ready...
but I'm not...
;0)
have a great day!

while I am waiting on the rain...

and the guys to get home from work...
thought I would do a little post here...
medium pink knock out rose is blooming...

honey suckle, too...

the darker pink/red knock out is so pretty...

I need to dead head the iris..
but they still have so much color...

the lighter ones...

took these last eveing...

its so much cooler here today...
highs in the low 50s and completely cloudy...

columbine are winding down...
and will start seeding soon...

yellow knock out rose will be blooming this weekend...
I will post photos when it does...

got big plans for this weekend...
will have at least one guy here to work for 5 days in a row!
got 2 days where they will both be here and we have plans...
shed is getting cleaned out, for one...
and we are getting the rest of the plants planted, for sure...
painting a few things, too...
a couple cook outs...
and some much needed naps will get going on...

have a safe weekend and remember to enjoy the time you had who are on the other side now...
grateful for all the veterans and what they give up...
their families who support them in what they do...
take a moment to pray for our country and the ones who defend her...
