my mother's day card from Doug and Tiff...

my mothers day card from Stever...
and my other son bought me flowers...
which I have already posted...
and then he called me on mother's day...
from the living room on the cell phone...
yep, I know what you're thinking...
I did raise him...
I know...
let's just see if he calls me when he moves out...
Don't tell God how big your storm is,

Tell the storm how big your God is!!!!!
Five Finger Prayer
1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

When angels cry...

This past weekend, a friend of mine called with the most terrible kind of news...
a very dear friend of hers husband had been found dead...
he had committed suicide...
the details are still sketchy and personal to the family...
but this one event has touched many lives...
and those left behind trying to make sense out of chaos...
which can't be done...
it goes against everything the rest of us believe in....
and it goes against God's timing for us...
this kind of death has no consolations that God is in charge and knows what he is doing...
was this man's death in vain???
absolutely...and maybe not completely...
for those who have been touched...
their lives will never be the same...
if it stops one other person from carrying out such a tragedy...
if for one moment someone rethinks their actions...
for there is no glory for those who determine their own time...
only God is allowed to do that...
there is only glory to those who finish the tasks...
who wait for the call...
and put faith in God's time...
in His care....
please remember this family and all their friends...
as they suffer the loss of not only his life...
but of the sadness in knowing it is unforgivable in God's eyes...
and the loss is forever...
and that only God can heal a wound so deep...
